A hundred and forty-two (142) former overseas Bangsamoro workers (OBWs) were granted financial aid, through the Ministry of Labor and Employmentโs (MOLE) Assistance Program for Repatriated, Abused, and Distressed OBWs, on August 6 at the MOLE Regional Office in Cotabato City.
With the help of the Overseas Workers Welfare Bureau (OWWB), the ministry was able to extend cash assistance amounting to โฑ10,000 to each of the 91 OBWs residing in Maguindanao del Norte and 51 in Maguindanao del Sur.
The initiative specifically targets overseas workers who faced traumatic circumstances abroad, such as contract violations, physical or emotional abuse, or deprivation of basic needs.
Through this program, the Bangsamoro Government reinforces its mission to support repatriated OBWs and equip them with meaningful opportunities that can help them rebuild their lives at home.
