SINGAPORE โ The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), headed by Minister Termizie G. Masahud, participated in the Asia Tech Summit 2026 held at the Singapore Expo from May 20โ22, 2026, as part of the Bangsamoro Governmentโs continuing efforts to strengthen digital connectivity and telecommunications development in the region.
The summit provided the MOTC delegation, particularly personnel from the Bangsamoro Telecommunications Commission (BTC), with direct exposure to international benchmarks and best practices on satellite and middle-mile connectivity frameworks. These insights are expected to support the Ministry in enhancing its technical capacity and aligning with the new national policy on the registration framework for data transmission.
During the event, the delegation attended various fora and discussions where global industry leaders tackled recent developments in telecommunications regulation, connectivity expansion, cybersecurity, and infrastructure modernization.
The engagements enabled the delegation to gain valuable perspectives on improving digital infrastructure and expanding reliable internet access across the Bangsamoro Region.The delegation also visited technology exhibits and met with industry leaders, technology providers, and potential partners to explore innovative solutions and collaborative opportunities for building a more sustainable and resilient digital ecosystem in BARMM.
Minister Masahud emphasized the importance of international engagement in advancing the regionโs digital transformation agenda, noting that such initiatives strengthen the Bangsamoro Governmentโs efforts to improve connectivity, modernize telecommunications services, and promote inclusive technological growth in the region.
