The Cotabato City Council for the Protection of Children together with Save the Children - Philippines conducted a Workshop on Review and Enhancement of Cotabato City Children's Code and Drafting of Cotabato City Child Protection Policy. The activity aims to address child protection risks and issues including during humanitarian settings and to review and enhance the existing Cotabato City Local Children’s Welfare Code based on the principles and provisions of the CRC, existing legal frameworks and an analysis of the situation of children in Cotabato City and incorporating the analysis and recommendations coming directly from children, CSOs and other key stakeholders.

Further, the write shop was held at East Asia Royale Hotel, General Santos City today October 27 - 29, 2022.

GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY!

"SAMA SAMANG IKAWAY, MALILINIS NA KAMAY!" A call for coordinated action as we move beyond COVID-19 to our new normal, we must unite toward hand hygiene for all.

Join us, as Cotabato City thru the Cotabato City Council for the Protection of Children celebrates the GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY on monday (October 17, 2022) at People's Palace together with Schools, Day Care Centers, Barangays, NGOs, Private Sectors of Cotabato City.

This annual celebration is a reminder for everyone that handwashing with soap and water is one of the best step we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Leveraging the learnings from recent years, the time to accelerate hand hygiene progress is now and it requires a collective effort to enact real change.

Highlight of the activity is the "Sabayang Paghuhugas ng Kamay" in which we encourage different sectors and every Cotabateῆos to join us at 10:30 am - 11:00 am during the rang of the siren at Cotabato City Police Office headquarters, PC Hill.

AWARENESS ON GENDER - BASED VIOLENCE & CHILD PROTECTION DURING COVID 19

The Cotabato City Council for the Protection of Children thru the RECPASSI conducted an Awareness on Gender Based Violence and Child Protection during Covid 19 among 35 child and youth. The activity was held at RECPASSI office, RH 8, this City.

"CHILDREN'S CONSULTATION"

The City Government of Cotabato thru the Cotabato City Council for the Protection of Children together with the Gallant Adolescent New Generation & Societal Adolescent Youth Alliance, Inc. put emphasis on Child's Rights to Participation by conducting a Children's Consultation among CCCPC and BCPC - Barangay Council for the Protection of Children - Child Representatives. Providing them an avenue to voice out their issues and concerns in their respective community and freely express their views on all matters and decisions that affect them, and to have those views taken into account at all levels of society.

Moreover, the result of the said activity will be utilized as basis of the revision of the Cotabato City Children's Code and Creation of Child Protection Policy of the City.

Further, Mr. Frank Maslee Saludes, CCCPC Child Representative gave his Welcome Message followed by the Rationale of the activity given by the CCCPC secretary and City Social Welfare and Development Officer Maam Cheribin Mena K. Viloria, RSW, MTSW. AVP on Child's Rights have been presented and orientation on UNCRC 4 basic Rights of Children conducted by the chairman of SAYA, Inc. Mr. Abdulrauf Lumabao. Groupings have been facilitated for the Workshop activity on the Children's Issues and Concerns as well as their recommendations on how to address their particular issues. Also, LSO Representative of Hon. Hunyn Abu , Chairman of the Committee on Women, Family and Children in the person of Zoe Carlo Cordero and Ms. Irish Tan, representative of Youth Development Office headed by Ms. Farina Mae Guiani gave their closing messages.

Ensuring the Best Interest of Children is the tenacity Cotabato City Council for the Protection of Children headed by its Chairwoman Atty. Frances Cynthia Guiani - Sayadi with its members and partners from the Non-Government Organizations and Government Agencies.
