A Joint Greyhound Operation, Random Drug Testing, and Lecture on Prohibited Drugs were successfully conducted at the Cotabato City Jail Female Dormitory under the supervision of 𝐉𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐂 𝐃𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄-Jail Warden, through the collaborative efforts of 𝐂𝐂𝐉-𝐅𝐃 personnel and the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐄𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 under the leadership of 𝐃𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑 𝐈𝐈𝐈 𝐄𝐃𝐆𝐀𝐑 𝐓 𝐉𝐔𝐁𝐀𝐘-Regional Director PDEA BARMM. The activity aimed to strengthen the campaign against illegal drugs, maintain a drug-free facility, enhance internal security, and raise awareness among Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
The operation commenced with a pre-operation briefing conducted by 𝗝𝗢𝟮 𝗢𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗔 𝗠𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗿. The briefing outlined the objectives of the operation, proper coordination, standard operating procedures, and the strict observance of human rights.
Following the briefing, a thorough Greyhound Operation was conducted within the facility. All cells, common areas, and personal belongings of PDLs were systematically searched for illegal drugs, contraband, and other prohibited items. The operation was carried out in a professional and respectful manner, ensuring transparency and preserving the dignity of all PDLs.
Simultaneously, Random Drug Testing was administered to all PDLs and CCJFD personnel. The testing process was supervised by authorized representatives from PDEA to ensure accuracy, credibility, and compliance with established procedures. Proper chain of custody and documentation protocols were strictly observed throughout the conduct of the drug testing.
In addition, a Lecture on Prohibited Drugs was conducted by PDEA personnel to educate PDLs. The lecture covered the ill effects of illegal drug use, legal implications under existing laws, and the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs, promoting awareness and reinforcing the importance of maintaining a drug-free environment within the facility.
The joint initiative highlights the strong partnership between BJMP and PDEA in upholding safety, discipline, and public trust. The conduct of the Joint Greyhound Operation, Random Drug Testing, and Lecture on Prohibited Drugs significantly contributed to the continued effort of maintaining a secure and drug-free custodial facility. It is recommended that similar collaborative activities be sustained regularly to further strengthen internal security measures and support the national campaign against illegal drugs.
