Pasay City - With unwavering vigilance in securing the countryโs air gateways, the PNP Aviation Security Group in coordination with the members of NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, uncovered a drug smuggling attempt involving abandoned inbound parcels at Central Mail Exchange Center, Domestic Road, Pasay City on Thursday, June 19, 2025.
The parcels, which originated from the United States, Poland and Thailand were flagged during routine X-ray screening due to suspicious images, prompting immediate K9 paneling and manual inspection, which led to the discovery of illegal drugs hidden inside the parcels.
Seized during the operation were approximately 3,025 grams of suspected Ketamine, concealed inside a coffee maker, with an estimated street value of PhP15,125,000.00 and 858 grams of suspected Ma*****na Kush, concealed in multiple boxes and vacuum-sealed bags with a street value of PhP1,123,980.00.
All recovered items were properly marked, photographed and inventoried in the presence of authorized witnesses and were immediately turned over to the PDEA National Office for appropriate disposition.
โNo agency works alone in the fight against illegal drugs. This operation shows the power of unified action where every unit plays its part and every coordination leads to real results. From now on, expect more of these operations as we continue to strengthen our collective efforts to protect our gateways and our people,โ PBGen Christopher M Abecia, Director, PNP Aviation Security Group, stated.
