The Office of Member of Parliament Ramon Piang joined the Bangsamoro Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) during the Mass Signing of Scholarship Contracts and Orientation for the first cohort of grantees under the Access to Higher and Modern Education – College Assistance Program (AHME-CAP).

AHME-CAP is a scholarship initiative of the Bangsamoro Government, through the MBHTE, that seeks to expand access to higher and modern education for deserving Bangsamoro students by providing financial assistance for their college studies and helping ease the economic challenges that often hinder the pursuit of higher learning.

The activity was held today, August 13, 2026, at the KCC Convention Center in Cotabato City, marking an important milestone for Bangsamoro students who are beginning their higher education journey through the support of the scholarship program.

The program included the presentation of beneficiaries, the ceremonial signing of scholarship contracts, messages of support, testimonials from student grantees, and an orientation on the AHME-CAP implementing guidelines.

Of the 1,600 scholarship slots allocated across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), 20 slots were allotted to beneficiaries endorsed through the Office of MP Ramon Piang. The participation in the program reflects the continuing support for efforts that make higher education more accessible to Bangsamoro learners and help lessen the financial burden faced by students and their families.

𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐏 𝐏𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐆, 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐆, 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐈 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐂 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆

In partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) and BARMM READI, the Office of Member of Parliament Ramon A. Piang, Sr. conducted a two-day Basic Life Support (BLS) Training on August 3–4, 2026, at Paragon Hotel in Cotabato City.

The activity was supported under the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of the Office of MP Piang.

The training gathered thirty-five (35) participants from the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) of the Local Government Unit of Upi to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in responding to medical emergencies. The sessions covered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), emergency assessment, and other essential life-saving procedures.

The activity forms part of continuing efforts to strengthen community preparedness and underscore the importance of timely and effective emergency response. Through initiatives such as this, the organizers aim to equip participants with skills that may be applied in critical situations and contribute to safer and more prepared communities.

Newly installed Commanding Officer of the 57th "Masikap" Infantry Battalion, LTC Ronaldo M Tarrayo, paid a courtesy visit to Member of Parliament Ramon A. Piang, Sr. today to discuss ongoing efforts to strengthen peace and security in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the current peace and security situation in the region and the importance of continued coordination between the Armed Forces and civilian leaders in addressing the needs of local communities.

Both LTC Tarrayo and MP Piang expressed their commitment to working together in support of initiatives that promote lasting peace, public safety, and sustainable development across the Bangsamoro.

The Office of Member of Parliament Ramon A. Piang, Sr., in partnership with the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples' Affairs (MIPA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), officially turned over three (3) pickup vehicles, one (1) tractor, and ten (10) hand tractors during a turnover ceremony held in Upi, Maguindanao del Norte. The assistance forms part of the Office's Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF), which aims to strengthen local governance and support agricultural and livelihood development across the Bangsamoro.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Upi received one (1) tractor and one (1) pickup vehicle, while the remaining two (2) pickup vehicles and ten (10) hand tractors were awarded to various cooperatives in the municipality to enhance agricultural productivity, improve mobility, and support sustainable livelihood initiatives.

MIPA Minister Guiamal Aldulrahman expressed his gratitude to MP Piang for entrusting the ministry with the implementation of the projects. He said that approximately ₱51 million has been allocated by the Office of MP Piang for various programs and initiatives to be implemented by MIPA, underscoring the Office's continued commitment to advancing the welfare and development of indigenous peoples and communities throughout the Bangsamoro region.

In his turnover message, MP Piang emphasized that the assistance extended to the LGU and its constituents serves a twofold purpose. He explained that when constituents are empowered to improve their livelihoods, the LGU likewise benefits through increased economic activity and enhanced revenue generation, enabling it to deliver better public services and sustain local development initiatives.

For her part, Upi Mayor Ma. Rona Cristina A. Piang-Flores expressed her gratitude for the Office of MP Piang's steadfast support for the municipality. She acknowledged the various equipment and development assistance previously extended to the LGU over the years, emphasizing that these interventions have significantly contributed to the municipality's agricultural development, improved the delivery of public services, and created greater opportunities for local communities.

IPMR Romeo Olubalang, one of the recipients of the pickup vehicle, expressed his appreciation for the assistance, noting that the vehicle would help facilitate travel to indigenous communities, particularly those in remote and far-flung areas, and support the delivery of services to their constituents.

Also present during the ceremony were members of the Sangguniang Bayan, led by Vice Mayor Abdila Alabat, along with officials of the Local Government Unit of Upi.

The Office of MP Piang, in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG), led the groundbreaking ceremony for the 250-meter road concreting project under the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) for the 57th Masikap Infantry Battalion.

In his message, MP Piang described the project as more than an infrastructure initiative, saying it reflects the Bangsamoro Government's continued investment in peace and development. He noted that while the road is only one component of a broader effort, it contributes to lasting peace by improving accessibility, and efficient delivery of service on the part of the AFP.

MP Piang also acknowledged the role of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, particularly the 57th Masikap Infantry Battalion, in maintaining peace and security. He said the unit's efforts helped pave the way for the declaration of Upi as an insurgency-free municipality, creating an environment where development projects can move forward. He reaffirmed the Bangsamoro Government's commitment to sustaining peace through development and continued collaboration with its partners.

In turn, LTC Aeron T Gumabao, INF (PA), Commanding Officer of the 57th Masikap Infantry Battalion, thanked the Office of MP Piang, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government, and the Bangsamoro Government for their continued support. Reflecting on his more than two years as battalion commander, he said he had learned that the commitment of leaders to responsive governance and development plays a significant role in sustaining peace and advancing progress in their areas of responsibility.

Also present during the groundbreaking ceremony were Vice Mayor Abdila Alabat, representing the Municipal Mayor; Sangguniang Bayan Member Saidie Lidasan; Punong Barangay Norodin Musa; and the officers and personnel of the 57th Masikap Infantry Battalion.
