The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) conducted a Stakeholders Briefing on 13 January 2026 as part of its continuing preparations for the 2026 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections.

The briefing was led by 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐄𝐫𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚, who briefed election stakeholders on key election policies, processes, and institutional preparations for the upcoming polls in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

The Bangsamoro Electoral Office (BEO) successfully hosted the Command Conference on Elections on 12 January 2026 at the Kampilan Officers Clubhouse, 6th Infantry Division, Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, as part of the continuing preparations for the 2026 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Election.

In his welcome remarks, Dir. Sumalipao underscored the importance of unified command, strengthened inter-agency coordination, and early operational planning to ensure the peaceful, orderly, honest, and credible conduct of elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

Key briefings and security presentations were delivered by partner agencies, including the Philippine Coast Guard, represented by Comm. Rejard V. Marfe, Acting District Commander, CGD BARMM; the Philippine National Police, represented by PBGen. Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director, PNP PRO BAR; and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, represented by LtGen. Donald M. Gumiran, PA, Commander, WESMINCOM.

COMELEC updates were presented by Hon. Rafael B. Olaño, Deputy Executive Director for Operations, followed by an open forum which provided an avenue to discuss operational and election-related concerns.

Also present during the activity were other COMELEC officials and key stakeholders, including field officials, legal officers, and representatives from various election offices and support units within the Bangsamoro region, who actively participated in the discussions.

The conference concluded with closing remarks from Atty. Renault C. Macarambon, ARED and Concurrent Acting PES of Lanao del Sur. The program was moderated by Atty. Joyce E. Moran, Election Officer IV, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte.

The Command Conference reinforced COMELEC’s commitment, in partnership with security forces and stakeholders, to ensure heightened preparedness and effective coordination for the successful conduct of the 2026 BARMM Parliamentary Election.

The activity was led by Atty. Renault Macarambon, Assistant Regional Election Director of the Bangsamoro Electoral Office and concurrent Provincial Election Supervisor of Lanao del Sur, together with the committed staff of the Bangsamoro Electoral Office. They were also joined by several Election Officers and Election Assistants of Lanao del Sur, strengthening the collaborative spirit that defines the region’s electoral service.

This initiative underscores COMELEC-BARMM’s continued commitment to nation-building—not only through ensuring credible elections, but also by contributing to environmental preservation and a cleaner, greener future for the Bangsamoro and the entire country.

Cotabato City — The Commission on Elections – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (COMELEC-BARMM) successfully held the Grand Launch of Botong Bangsamoro 2025: The Empowered Electorate on August 20, 2025, at the Ebrahim Hall, KDT Manor Hotel, Cotabato City.

Carrying the theme “𝙄𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙤, 𝙄𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙤𝙩𝙤: 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙒𝙚 𝙑𝙤𝙩𝙚, 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙒𝙚 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙚,” the launch underscored the Commission’s commitment to empowering the Bangsamoro electorate through informed, inclusive, and participatory electoral engagement for the upcoming 2025 Parliamentary Elections.

The event was graced by COMELEC Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia, Regional Election Director Atty. Ray F. Sumalipao, and Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua, together with representatives from government institutions who reaffirmed their support for strengthening democratic participation in BARMM.

Highlights of the program included cultural performances, the formal unveiling of the Botong Bangsamoro 2025 Campaign, and the symbolic signing of the Commitment Wall, representing the collective resolve to safeguard the sanctity of the ballot.

Through this initiative, COMELEC-BARMM calls on every Bangsamoro voter to stand united in upholding free, honest, and credible elections.
