The Bangsamoro Airport Authority is honored to receive a Plaque of Recognition from the Bangsamoro Treasury Office, Ministry of Finance and Budget and Management โ€” BARMM, awarded yesterday, May 21, 2026, at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, Cotabato City, during the Annual Bangsamoro Local Revenue Collection Forum.

BAA was recognized as Most Compliant with Issued Guidelines for 2025, a reflection of the agency's outstanding performance in revenue collection, marked by efficiency, integrity, and steadfast commitment to the Bangsamoro Government's fiscal sustainability and development goals.

The award was presented by no less than Bangsamoro Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua, BTA Parliament Speaker Mohammad Yacob, MFBM Minister Ubaida Pacasem, and Bangsamoro Treasurer Naila Dimaraw, a distinction that speaks to the weight and significance of this recognition.

The Bangsamoro Airport Authority is an attached agency of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications โ€“ BARMM under the helm of Minister Termizie G. Masahud. This achievement is anchored on the steady leadership of BAA Director Atty. Ranibai D. Dilangalen and Area Manager Carmencita O. Salik, and carried forward by our Airport Managers โ€” Johari L. Manila, Philippines โ€” The Bangsamoro Airport Authority (BAA), together with the Air Transportation Services (ATS), actively participated in the 8th Philippine Airport Modernization and Expansion Summit held at City of Dreams, Manila on April 22โ€“23, 2026. The summit gathered key aviation stakeholders, industry experts, and government officials to discuss the current state and future direction of airport modernization, expansion, and sustainability in the Philippines.

The BAA delegation was led by Director Atty. Ranibai D. Dilangalen alongside ATS Director Razulden A. Mangelen, with the participation of MOTC-BAA delegates. The activity was strongly supported by MOTC Minister Termizie G. Masahud, highlighting the ministryโ€™s commitment to advancing aviation infrastructure and strengthening regional connectivity in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

A high-level meeting between the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) was successfully convened on April 21, 2026, to advance the development of airports in the Bangsamoro region. The meeting was spearheaded by DOTr Undersecretary Jim Sydiongco, alongside Termizie G. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) - Bangsamoro Airport Authority (BAA), led by Minister Termizie G. Masahud together with BAA Director Atty. Ranibai D. Dilangalen and Air Transportation Services (ATS) Director Razulden Mangelen, recently concluded a series of courtesy visits and coordination meetings with key airline partners, including Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific. The engagements aimed to strengthen partnerships and align operational priorities in support of improving air transport services across the Bangsamoro region.

Discussions with Philippine Airlines focused on the introduction of the newly installed Minister, updates on the Domestic Passenger Service Charge (DPSC) and related operational concerns, and proposed infrastructure enhancements such as stairway coverings and passenger facility improvements. The meeting also covered potential route expansion, particularly the Cotabatoโ€“Zamboanga route, as well as considerations for adjustments in DPSC rates in Tawi-Tawi. Meanwhile, talks with Cebu Pacific centered on similar operational concerns paramount of which is the resumption of flights in Cotabato Awang Airport, including DPSC matters, the status of runway construction and rehabilitation projects, flight scheduling and capacity requirements, the resumption of flights, and opportunities for future collaboration and partnership.

All agenda items were thoroughly discussed, with both airline partners expressing support for ongoing coordination and development efforts. The BAA and MOTC reaffirm their commitment to working closely with stakeholders to enhance connectivity, improve passenger experience, and deliver responsive and efficient air transport services for the people of the Bangsamoro.

In line with the observance of Oplan Semana Santa 2026, the Bangsamoro Airport Authority (BAA) is pleased to inform the public that a Libreng Sakay program will be available from April 1 to 5, 2026.

This initiative aims to assist passengers, airport personnel, and the general public with convenient and accessible transportation during the Holy Week period, when travel demand is expected to increase.

Please be advised that accommodation of passengers shall be subject to seating capacity and availability of seats per trip.

Cotabato City โ€” The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has adopted a compressed workweek arrangement for all personnel pursuant to OCM Memorandum Circular No. 0049, series of 2026. Under the new schedule, employees will complete forty (40) working hours within four (4) days, from Monday to Thursday, with office hours from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM, inclusive of a one-hour meal break. The initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency, optimize the use of government resources, and support energy conservation efforts while ensuring the continuous delivery of public services.

In line with this directive, the Bangsamoro Airport Authority (BAA) will likewise implement and strictly observe the same compressed workweek schedule. All offices are directed to properly inform clients and stakeholders of the adjusted working hours to ensure uninterrupted service and accessibility. This arrangement, however, does not apply to personnel rendering frontline services at the airport and ground personnel (Airport Facility Cleaner and Security Personnel), who shall continue to follow their existing work schedules to maintain continuous airport operations. The new work arrangement takes effect immediately.

The Bangsamoro Airport Authority (BAA) under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications โ€“ BARMM (MOTC-BARMM) proudly joined government agencies across Mindanao at the 1st Mindanao Inter-Agency Convergence on Air Transportation Development, convened by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) on 23 March 2026 via Zoom.

Under the leadership of ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐“๐ž๐ซ๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ข๐ž ๐†. ๐Œ๐š๐ฌ๐š๐ก๐ฎ๐ and through BAA Director-I, Atty. Ranibai D. Dilangalen, the agency was represented by Area Manager Carmencita O. Salik, RCrim, MPA and Cotabato Awang Airport Manager Johari L. Musa, who presented BAA's completed and ongoing airport infrastructure projects in the Bangsamoro region.

The free transportation service is available to:
โ€ข All passengers at Cotabato (Awang) Airport
โ€ข Commuters along the designated routes passing the airport
โ€ข Employees of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)

This initiative will remain in effect until the transportation strike is officially lifted.

The program was initiated by the Minister of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), Minister Termizie G. Masahud, and is strongly supported by BAA Management under the leadership of Director Atty. Ranibai D. Dilangalen.

Vehicles deployed for this initiative include a bus donated by MP Susana S. Anayatin and an additional vehicle provided by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), ensuring continuous and reliable service for those in need.

Accommodation of passengers shall be subject to the seating capacity and availability of seats per trip. Boarding will be on a first-come, first-served basis to ensure safety and proper allocation of available space.

The BAA reaffirms its commitment to public service by providing safe, accessible, and immediate transportation support during this period of disruption.
