Catarman Elementary School - DepEd Region 7 Catarman Elementary School is located in Catarman, Cordova, Cebu with 26 teachers, 1 ADOF, and 1 sch Alejandro Aro. Hazel Marie Sanchez, Mrs. Edeliza B. Anna Fe O.

The school was first established on 2006 with the pursuant of the active barangay officials headed by Hon. It has had three number of classrooms with grade levels one to three having the pioneer teachers Ms. Alindao, Mrs. Gwendolyn T. Sabucido, and Mrs. Chan. The school has yet no principal or school head to administer until its later years with Mrs. Mercedita E. Alvarado followed by Mrs. Era D. Mabras then with Ms. Elvira P. Jumao-as. And the current school head is Mr. Pamfilo K. Vivas installed last November 17, 2022. The school has been gradually growing having a total population of 795 this school year with twenty-four class advisers and two special teachers who facilitate the non-curricular activities of the school. With God’s grace and guidance, the school has been continually growing and productive building great minds and good character of today’s generation.

The Local Goverment of Cordova led by Mayor Cesar “Didoy” Suan would like to announce that face-to-face classes in all levels in public schools in Cordova including Cordova Public College (CPC) will officially resume tomorrow, October 16, 2026.

“Sa mga private schools in Cordova, we will leave the resumption of face-to-face classes sa ilang tagsa-tagsa ka mga school administrators,” Mayor Suan said.

Mayor Cesar "Didoy" Suan has ordered the suspension of face-to-face classes for all levels in public schools, effective tomorrow, October 15, 2026 2026 until further notice.

This precautionary measure is implemented in view of the reported Air Quality Index (AQI) of 168, classified as Very Unhealthy as reported by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB 7).

All public schools in the municipality, including Cordova Public College, will transition to alternative learning modalities or asynchronous classes during the face-to-face class suspension.

However, suspension of face-to-face classes for all levels in private schools is left to the discretion of their respective administrations.

“Please stay indoors and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities at this time. If you must go outside, ensure you wear a well-fitted mask.
