[𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦] Davao de Oro State College, together with our partner higher education institutions, invites researchers, extension practitioners, educators, policymakers, industry leaders, students, and other stakeholders to submit their papers for the 4th International Multidisciplinary Research-Based Extension Conference (IMREC) 2026.

With the theme “Translating Multidisciplinary Research into Scalable Extension Innovations: Driving Evidence-Based Interventions and Sustainable Development,” IMREC 2026 provides a dynamic platform for showcasing research-based extension initiatives, strengthening professional networks, and advancing innovative community interventions and evidence-informed practices that contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.

The conference will be held on September 14–16, 2026, in Davao City, Philippines.

Interested participants may submit papers aligned with any of the following conference strands:
• Technical Training and Skills Development
• Educational Enhancement
• Community Development
• Health and Well-being
• Social Empowerment and Governance

'𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆' 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲

Student journalists and aspiring applicants of the student publication elevated their media skills today, June 22, as they immerse into hands-on training for radio broadcasting and photojournalism at the "The Cover Story" seminar-workshop.

The training session, anchored on the theme “Truth in Focus: Amplifying Voices, Shaping Perspectives, Capturing Stories that Matter,” focused on upgrading traditional event documentation into multimedia coverage.

Public Information Unit (PIU) Head, Khif Muamar M. Miranda, discussed the fundamentals of radio broadcasting, highlighting how the medium has evolved through modern platforms while remaining easier, faster, more affordable, and accessible to audiences.

He also encouraged the student publication to strengthen media coverage and adapt to the changing landscape of broadcasting through vodcasts (video podcasts).

Meanwhile, former Golden Cornucopia heralds, Christine Mae A. Sidayon and Ron Gerard Celada, LPT, discussed how photographs preserve history, influence public perception, and capture emotional narrative moments.

Sidayon emphasized the strict ethical responsibility of photojournalists to avoid image manipulation, while Celada provided technical insights on camera mechanisms, composition techniques, and the "5 Cs of Photography."

During his opening message, Sir Joden John Nituda emphasized the urgency of responsible journalism amid the rapid spread of misinformation online.

The seminar-workshop concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participants in recognition of their commitment to developing impactful and responsible journalism.

Today, we honor not only the fathers who guide us by blood but also those who have chosen to stand in a father’s place, those whose strength became our shelter, whose wisdom became our compass, and whose love remained constant even in life’s most trying seasons.

May this day serve as a reminder that your sacrifices are cherished, your presence is valued, and your love is deeply treasured. Happy Father’s Day to all fathers and father figures! Today, we celebrate you.

𝗖𝗦𝗖 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆, 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀

Memories were revisited and lasting friendships were celebrated as the College Student Council, Inc. (CSC) of Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) Main Campus held its Celebration of Service Farewell Party themed “Celebrating Memories, Cherishing Friendships” at the Main Campus Activity Center on June 20, 2026.

The gathering served as a tribute to the outgoing officers whose dedication and service contributed to the council’s initiatives and activities throughout the academic year. It also became a moment of reflection as student leaders looked back on the experiences, challenges, and milestones they shared together.

In his opening message, CSC Governor Jomar M. Hagonoy expressed his gratitude to the officers for their unwavering efforts and support, acknowledging their role in the successful conduct of various school events and activities throughout the year.

“As we celebrate our journey together, we also celebrate the impact each one of you has made,” Hagonoy conveyed as he wished the graduating and outgoing officers success in their future endeavors.

Meanwhile, Student Council and Organization Section Head John Mark G. Javar highlighted the camaraderie and bonds that had grown among the student leaders during their term. Looking back on the memories they created together, he described the council as “one big family,” bringing a sense of nostalgia to the audience.

The celebration also featured messages of service and gratitude from the outgoing officers, who reflected on their experiences and shared the lessons they learned throughout their years of service.

Representing the outgoing Executive Officers were Glendon Lucky Magnanao and Charyzza Peña, while Lawrence Maguilang and John Lloyd Maquilan delivered messages on behalf of the outgoing Legislative Officers.

Outgoing Organization Presidents Zean Gabriel Sorongon, Lyka Keisah Rapista, Jerico Dagandan, and Mae Kimberly Lastimoso also expressed their appreciation to the council, fellow officers, and the college community for the trust and support they received during their tenure.

A prayer service for the outgoing officers followed, offering words of thanksgiving and blessings as they prepare to embark on new journeys beyond their terms of office.

The evening continued with a farewell toast led by Javar, who encouraged everyone to cherish the memories they had built together and carry the friendships they formed beyond the walls of the institution.

Adding warmth and vibrancy to the celebration, the officers showcased their talents through a series of entertainment performances and karaoke sessions, filling the venue with laughter and heartfelt moments.

The event concluded with a shared meal, capping off an evening marked by gratitude, joy, and nostalgia. More than a farewell gathering, the celebration served as a reminder that while terms of service may come to an end, the friendships forged and the memories created through service remain lasting legacies for every student leader.

Get ready to meet the speakers who will lead and inspire student-journalists in the upcoming seminar-workshop titled, "The Cover Story: Seminar-Workshop on Event Documentation," of the Golden Cornucopia, the Official Student Publication of Davao de Oro State College–Main Campus, this June 22, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the Audio-Visual Room.

Learn from Khif Muamar Miranda in Radio Broadcasting, with Christine Mae Sidayon alongside Ron Gerard Celada in Photojournalism and Event Documentation, as they share valuable information and practical techniques in storytelling, documentation, and responsible event reporting.

With the theme, “Truth in Focus: Amplifying Voices to Perspectives, Capturing Stories that Matter,” this seminar aims to strengthen the skills of aspiring campus journalists and encourage them to capture stories with purpose, accuracy, and impact.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗦𝗖 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗵, 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀

A new chapter in student leadership unfolded as the newly elected officers of the College Student Council, Inc. (CSC) of Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) Main Campus formally assumed their positions during the Turnover and Oath-Taking Ceremony themed “Leadership Beyond Today, Service Beyond Tomorrow” held at the Main Campus Covered Court on June 18, 2026.

The ceremony was led by SUC President I Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, who administered the oath of office to the incoming student leaders and extended her congratulations as they embark on their new responsibilities.

In her message, she emphasized that student leadership serves as a training ground for greater opportunities and reminded the officers that humility remains an essential quality of a leader. “You will not be a great leader if you were not a great follower,” Matunhay said, encouraging the newly elected officers to remain grounded as they lead and serve their fellow students.

The event also featured the formal introduction of the CSC officers for the Academic Year 2026–2027 and the symbolic turnover of the Key of Responsibility, signifying the official transfer of duties and the continuity of student leadership and service within the institution.

In his opening message, John Mark G. Javar, Student Council and Organization Section Head, expressed his gratitude to the outgoing officers for their dedication and sacrifices throughout their term.

He encouraged them to carry the skills and values they had cultivated during their service into their future endeavors and communities while urging the incoming officers to remain active and steadfast in fulfilling their responsibilities throughout the academic year.

Meanwhile, Student Affairs and Services Division Director Judith R. Tudy underscored the importance of maximizing the opportunities provided to student leaders, citing the seminars, workshops, and trainings that have contributed to their personal and leadership development.

Expressing appreciation for these initiatives, Tudy challenged the incoming officers to reflect on how they could meaningfully contribute to the college community given the support they receive. She also reminded them to prioritize their safety in all their endeavors and remain committed to serving with integrity.

Reelected CSC Governor Jomar M. Hagonoy expressed his continued commitment to public service, sharing his hopes for a more collaborative and responsive student leadership alongside his new team for the upcoming academic year.

The ceremony also became a venue for reflection and gratitude as outgoing officers shared the experiences and lessons they gained from serving the student body. Looking back on memorable moments and milestones achieved during their tenure, they recounted the challenges they overcame and the values they cultivated along the way, bringing light smiles and a sense of nostalgia to the audience.
