The Davao de Oro State College, formerly known as Compostela Valley State College (CVSC) was created through Republic Act 10598 on June 4, 2013. Efforts to create this College date back to the late 1990s during the incumbency of Cong. Sarmiento when Compostela was still part of the larger Davao del Norto Province. The dream of having a state college in the province was nurtured and fought for by C

ong. Manuel "Way Kurat" Zamora throughout his three terms as representative of the first district of Compostela Valley. It was during the first term of his daughter, Cong, Maricar Zamora, that the college finally became a reality. Last July 23, 2021, the Republic Act No. 11575 was approved by the President Rodrigo R. Thus, the Compostela Valley State College has finally been given the honor to be renamed as the Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC), after the name of Davao De Oro province,
The College shall primarily provide advanced education, higher technological, professional instruction and training in agriculture, science and technology, and other related fields. It shall also undertake research and extension services in support of the socio-economic development of the Province of Davao de Oro, and provide progressive leadership in its areas of specialization.
