📢𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘: Hiking at Bantay Kalbo is temporarily discouraged while site preparation and development are still ongoing.
Nais po naming ipabatid na ang lugar ay hindi pa tourism-ready. Sa kasalukuyan, 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗽𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗮𝘆𝗼𝘀 𝗻𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗻𝗮 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗮.
Kamakailan lamang, may mga kabataan na nagtangkang mag-hike sa lugar. Dahil sa kawalan ng established trail, proper guidance, at sapat na preparasyon, sila ay nahirapan at kinailangan pang i-rescue. Mabuti na lamang po at sila ay agad na natulungan at ligtas na naibalik.
This incident highlights the importance of ensuring that all safety measures are in place before opening the area to the public. Recently, together with LGU personnel, we personally visited and ascended Bantay Kalbo to conduct an initial site assessment. Based on this, we have noted the following observations:
⚠️ 𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐘 𝐊𝐀𝐋𝐁𝐎:
📌 Wala pang established at safe hiking trail
📌 Wala pang trained tour guides or official guiding system
📌 Wala pang emergency response and rescue infrastructure in place
📌 Challenging and potentially risky terrain, especially for unprepared hikers
🛠️ 𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗗𝗘:
📌 Proper trail development and mapping
📌 Training of local guides with safety and basic life support knowledge
📌 Environmental protection measures (Leave No Trace policy)
📌 Emergency and rescue system planning and coordination
We recognize the strong interest and excitement of the public, especially with previous visits shared online. However, it is important to emphasize that tourism readiness requires careful planning, safety assurance, and proper infrastructure before opening any site.
For now, 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱. At present, Bantay Kalbo is still undergoing assessment and development to ensure that it meets the necessary standards for public use.
Rest assured, the 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗯𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲, 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.
