It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends from government, diplomacy, and public service, and to celebrate the enduring friendship between the Philippines and the United Kingdom.

We are grateful to the British Embassy for its warm hospitality and for its continued efforts to strengthen cooperation, understanding, and people-to-people ties between our two nations. We also join many others in wishing His Majesty King Charles III good health, happiness, and continued service.

A meaningful evening, good conversations, and a reminder that no matter how far apart countries may be geographically, friendship and collaboration can always bring people closer together. 🇵🇭🤝🇬🇧

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗩𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮. 💙💛

Last June 9, I had the opportunity to join the 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝘆𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮, a three-day showcase of the agricultural produce and local products of our province.

Together with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Governor Jerry Singson represented by Atty. Jannah Singson, local officials, and our producers, we celebrated not only the richness of Ilocos Sur’s products, but also the opportunities that come when local communities are connected to larger markets.

For our farmers, fisherfolk, and MSMEs, initiatives like these mean more than just sales. They create new partnerships, expand market access, and open doors for growth.

I am especially encouraged that alongside the bazaar, business matching activities were also conducted to connect our local producers with retailers, distributors, and industry partners in Metro Manila.

At the heart of local economic development is a simple goal: creating more opportunities for our people to thrive.

Because when we support local products, we support local families, livelihoods, and communities.

As Regional Vice President of JCI Philippines Ilocandia Region, I was honored to join JCI Ilocos Inabel during the 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 (𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗔) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 held last June 5 at the Provincial Farmers and Livelihood Development Center in Vigan City.

Bringing together Junior and Senior High School student leaders from across Ilocos Sur, the academy created a space for learning, dialogue, and leadership formation under the theme “Navigating Young Leaders Towards Transformational Leadership.”

As someone who began my own leadership journey at a young age, I shared with our youth leaders a simple reminder: leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room. It is about listening, building bridges, and using whatever platform we have to uplift others.

I have always believed that the future of Ilocos Sur is in good hands, not because young people are the leaders of tomorrow, but because many of them are already leading today. Because when we invest in young leaders, we are not only shaping careers. We are shaping communities, and ultimately, the future of our province. 💙💛

I was honored to join the 𝗩𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 yesterday, June 16, where educators, local leaders, and community partners came together with one shared goal: creating better opportunities for our learners.

During my talk on “𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁,” I shared a belief that has guided me both in public service and in community works: 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

Because education is not the responsibility of schools alone.

It belongs to all of us—to parents, teachers, local governments, private organizations, and communities willing to invest in the future of our children.

As a mother, I often think about the kind of world we are building for the next generation. And I believe that every partnership we form today becomes an opportunity for a child tomorrow.

Our gratitude to our educators and stakeholders who continue to go beyond their roles to ensure that no learner is left behind.

When communities collaborate, schools become stronger. And when schools become stronger, the future becomes brighter for everyone. 💙💛

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆. 💙💛

Last June 5, I joined our dedicated Barangay Health Workers during the 31st BHW Congress Ilocos Sur 2026. This gathering recognizes the people who are often the first to respond when a community needs care.

From health education to home visits, from emergencies to everyday concerns, our BHWs quietly serve on the frontlines of public health. Their work may not always make headlines, but their impact is felt in every family and every community they serve.

As we discussed important topics such as stroke and dementia care, health service delivery, and resilience-building, one thing became clear: a healthier Ilocos Sur begins with empowered health workers.

“𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗴.” 🇵🇭

Sounds familiar, right? 😉

Last June 4, I had the privilege of joining fellow provincial officials, local chief executives, tourism officers, and our partners during the 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿’𝘀 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: 𝗔 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗱-𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 following the successful 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 “𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴” 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗿. We were honored to welcome representatives from 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗰. 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟴 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆, whose advocacy has long encouraged Filipinos to proudly raise their flag, not only for themselves, but for their communities and country.

Led by Governor Jerry Singson and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, the gathering was our way of expressing gratitude to the many partners, LGUs, and stakeholders who continue to champion tourism, culture, and heritage preservation in our province.

Every heritage home, every local craft, every tradition, and every story passed down from one generation to another forms part of the flag we raise for Ilocos Sur.

Because when we raise the flag of our province, we do not simply showcase where we live. 𝗪𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲. 💙💛

What makes this project even more special is that the bags were created from donated old jeans, proof that something once set aside can be transformed into something meaningful and useful for a child’s future. 😊

I love the message behind this initiative. It shows how communities can come together, combine resources, and create opportunities for children. More than the bags and supplies, this project sends a powerful message to every child: your dreams matter, and there are people who believe in you.

To our young beneficiaries, I hope these bags remind you to keep learning, keep striving, and keep dreaming big. Education remains one of the greatest gifts we can invest in because every lesson learned today helps build a brighter tomorrow.

Congratulations to the Barangay Council of Beddeng Laud and JCI Vigan for bringing this meaningful project to life. Thank you as well to Maris ti Ayat, Inc., all our generous donors, and dedicated volunteers whose kindness and support helped make Jeans to Dreams possible.

Every child deserves a chance to dream big. And sometimes, changing a future starts with something as simple as a school bag.

This followed the Batac leg held at Mariano Marcos State University, bringing together a total of 155 educators from Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte for two days of learning and empowerment.

As I took on this initiative together with my organization JCI Vigan, I have always believed that teachers deserve the same opportunities for growth that they tirelessly create for others.

Through sessions on financial literacy, personal empowerment, productivity, wellness, and professional development, we hoped to equip our educators not only as teachers, but also as leaders and changemakers in their communities.

This collaborative project of JCI Vigan, in partnership with JCI Manila, JCI Ilocos Inabel, and JCI Batac Empanada, also introduced participants to the Ten Outstanding G**o Awards (TOGA) 2026, a platform that recognizes excellence and innovation in education.

To our teachers: thank you for shaping minds, nurturing dreams, and building the future every single day.
