Ilocos Sur PRIDE Federation Elects New Officers

Diverse Citizenry

LGBTQIA+ members from various local government units (LGUs) in the province elected new Ilocos Sur PRIDE Federation officers on 2 June 2026. Held during the province's Pride Month celebration, the election aimed to strengthen collaboration and advance community welfare initiatives.

Governor Jerry Singson, represented by Private Secretary Jester Singson, attended the event alongside Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Janina Medina-Fariñas, Provincial Youth Development Officer Olivia Marie Ibatuan, and Provincial Information Officer Dr. Irene Abigail Guerrero.

Ilocos Sur launches Search for Most Functional LPCC '26

Smart Governance

Spearheaded by the Provincial Price Coordinating Council (PPCC), Ilocos Sur launched the 2026 Search for the Most Functional Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) to guarantee fair, transparent, and stable market prices for consumers on 2 June 2026 via Zoom.

Said virtual activity discussed the search’s guidelines and criteria, and oriented the local government units on their capacity to implement the Republic Act No. 7581 or the Price Act.

Governor Jerry Singson, represented by Private Secretary Jester Singson, delivered a message on sustaining a resilient local economy. SPM Janina Medina-Fariñas and DTI Ilocos Sur OIC-Provincial Director H.A. Zaldy Z. Zafra Jr. also participated in the program.

ONE Ilocos Sur Health Caravan Partners with Sta. Catalina’s Medical Mission

Healthy, Safe, and Diverse Citizenry

The ONE Ilocos Sur Health Caravan delivered essential healthcare services on 2 June 2026 in Sta. Catalina, partnering with the local government to support its municipal Medical Mission. By joining forces, the provincial government complemented the event, providing accessible healthcare services directly into the community.

Through this collaborative effort, residents received free medical and dental checkups, vital medicines, laboratory services, and specialized treatments. Taking a holistic approach to wellness, the program also distributed food packs, reading glasses, and gifts for children, alongside a successful bloodletting activity supported by the Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, and Bureau of Fire Protection.

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur deployed the ONE Ilocos Sur Mobile Laboratory, Mobile Dental Clinic, and Mobile Kitchen to reinforce these medical services for the local government's main activity. Concurrently, the Local Government Unit of Sta. Catalina, alongside the PCSO, DOH, Rotary Club of Vigan, Deokid Foundation, and dedicated partner organizations, actively spearheaded and provided vital professional personnel and resources.

ONE Ilocos Sur Rice Program Extends Aid to Nearly 50,000 Homes

Inclusive Social Welfare

Households across Ilocos Sur received 10-kilo rice packs during the launch of the ONE Ilocos Sur Rice Program on 1 June 2026. The simultaneous distribution commenced in Vigan City and rolled out across Cabugao, Sto. Domingo, Narvacan, Sta. Maria, Candon City, Tagudin, Quirino, and all other LGUs as part of the provincial government’s continuing food assistance initiative for vulnerable communities.

Led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, this initiative advances the province’s commitment to social welfare through direct relief.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan members joined the distribution, including SPM Janina Medina-Fariñas, SPM Third Ranches, and SPM Constante Benzon in Vigan, SPM Art Oandasan and SPM Ismael Baterina in Cabugao, SPM Reymark Rafanan in Sto. To encourage public participation in climate action, proper waste management, and environmental protection, the provincial government marks the start of the Philippine Environment Month 2026 through an advocacy foot parade in Vigan City on 1 June.

Led by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Management Office (PENRMO), the parade marked the start of month-long series of environmental programs across the province, including clean-up drives, tree-planting activities, and awareness campaigns.

Ilocos Sur Opens PRIDE Booth and Lane

To celebrate diversity and strengthen inclusivity, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur officially opened ILOCOS SUR PRIDE 2026 through the launch of the Pride Booth and Pride Lane at Plaza Salcedo in Vigan City on 1 June 2026. The installations reflect the province’s commitment to inclusivity, respect, equal opportunity and community solidarity across the province.

The ceremony was led by Governor Jerry Singson, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Janina Medina-Fariñas, Third Ranches, Reymark Rafanan, Provincial Administrator Marlon F. Tagorda, and Executive Assistant to the Governor Atty. Jannah Singson.
