EDUCATION AND LEARNING

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur in collaboration with APEER Ilocos Sur conducted the four-day peer education training on Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR) and Mental Health Awareness at Melsol Hotel, Bantay.

Thirty-five attendees were composed of student leaders ages 15-20 years old willing to be trained and commit to the organization.

After the training, participants will undergo mentoring and coaching in order for them to become certified Peer Educator of APEER Ilocos Sur.

Governor Jerry Singson represented by Atty. Jannah Singson and SPM Jimboy Singson attended the opening program.

The Provincial Youth Development Office together with PDRRMO and the General Services Office had a courtesy visit with the Mayor of Cervantes, Hon. Pablito Benjamin P. Maggay II to discuss the plan for the upcoming youth event, together with their Local Youth Development Officer, Mr. Larimar Opolencia.

On the same day, the group had a site visit at Namecbeccan, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur.

The Provincial Youth Development Office conducted an Ilocos Sur Youth Learning and Advocacy Lab participated by 30 young individuals of the province.

This program centered on promoting youth empowerment and participation through education and skill building.

Qualifications
1. Applicant must be a resident of Ilocos Sur.
2. Applicant must be 15-25 years old.

Governor Jerry Singson encouraged the young leaders of Ilocos Sur to continue their burning passion and commitment to serve and inspire their fellow youth during the opening program of the three-day 4th Titong Singson Youth Leadership Congress with the theme: "Youth of Ilocos Sur the Face of Excellence, Resilience and Influence".

A total of 152 young leaders coming from the schools division of Vigan City, Candon City and Ilocos Sur including the 20 finalists of the Top 10 Youth Leaders participated in the congress.

Along with Governor Jerry Singson were Provincial Administrator Marlon Tagorda, Vigan City Councilor Janina Fariñas and Provincial Youth Development Officer Omar Ibatuan.

HAPPENING NOW | More than 200 youth leaders from all over the Philippines convened for the biggest gathering and first-ever Youth Organization Registration Program National Convention in celebration of the International Youth Day, ASEAN Day, National Youth Day, and Linggo ng Kabataan.

The event is co-presented by United Nations- Youth Thematic Group, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Philippines, co-hosted with Youth Co:Lab, Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform (YECAP), and the Movers Programme.
