84k worth of Illegal Lumber Seized in Caraga

Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- Police confiscated believed to be illegally cut forest products worth more than Php84,000.00 Thursday dawn in Caraga region.
In a report submitted to Police Regional Office (PRO) 13, 41 pieces of Iron Wood tree “Magkuno” lumber with estimated volume of 900 board feet worth Php72,000.00 were confiscated by the police in Brgy. Poblacion, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur around 12:30AM.
Arrested in the operation was Jay Alabaran, 44, and the driver of Mitsubishi Canter truck where the undocumented forest products were loaded.
Meanwhile, the drivers of single motorcycles identified as Jimmy Sernal, Danilo Cellero, and Marcial Toda were nabbed by the police in Brgy. 5, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte about 3:00AM.
114 pieces of dipterocarp lumber with total volume of 631 board feet and market value of Php12,015.00 were boarded on the motorcycles.
Chief Superintendent Rolando B Felix, Caraga Police Director, said that the continuing campaign against illegal logging is part of PNP Caraga’s support to the DENR Regional Multi-Sectoral Environmental Protection Committee’s effective and efficient protection, conservation, development and management of our forest.
He also urged the community to provide relevant information to help stop the destruction of the region’s forest resources which prevent calamities and preserve the biodiversity

51 Police Officers Finish Community Course

Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City--------To develop the core competency of Police Officers in the field of information operations and community affairs, 51 police officers in Caraga region graduated here on Thursday morning from the Police Community Affairs and Development Course.
The 51 cops were able to finish the course that ran for 45 days or 360 hours. Out of forty five (45) days, thirty (30) days were spent for classroom instruction, ten (10) days barangay immersion, and five (5) days Performance Evaluation.
Chief Superintendent Ericson T Velasquez, deputy director of the Philippine National Police Directorate for Police Community Relations, said every police officer must learn how to engage with the members of the community to identify and address their needs in relation to peace and order.
Velasquez, the guest of honor and speaker, is a lawyer and classmate of Police Regional Office 13 Director Chief Supt Rolando B Felix from the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1985.
During the program, top three (3) students were recognized for academic excellence, namely: PO2 Ryan C Cagula, who was awarded with the Medalya ng Kasanayan for being Class Nr 1; PCINSP JOEL V LIONG was awarded with Medalya ng Papuri for being Class Nr 2; and PO3 Honey Faith M Arquion was awarded with Medalya ng Papuri for being Class Nr 3. Likewise, Medalya ng Papuri was also awarded to PSINSP JENNIFER OMETER, as Class President, and PCINSP JOEL V LIONG as Class Marcher.
PCSUPT FELIX congratulates the graduates for successfully completing all the requirements of the course and encouraged the graduates to apply the knowledge they had learned during the training.

PRO 13 has New Advisory Council Member

Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City------- PNP Caraga has new Regional Advisory Council (RAC) member who took his oath early morning yesterday during the flag raising ceremony.
Chief Supt Rolando B. Felix, Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 director, administered the oath taking of Rey M. Cueva, Officer-in-Charge of TESDA-Caraga.
Based on the terms of reference, Cueva has two years to serve as member of the RAC.
He replaced Director Florencio F. Sunico, Jr. who was transferred to Region VII as regional director of TESDA based in Cebu City.
Chief Supt Felix commended the contribution of Director Sunico as part of the advisory body that provides support and guidance towards the attainment of the mission and vision of PRO 13 under the roadmap PATROL (Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and upholding of the Rule-Of- Law) Plan 2030.
RAC was created to support, monitor and oversee the successful implementation of the PNP PATROL Plan 2030 in Caraga region.

PRO 13 distribute 95 Patrol Motorcycles

Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- The Police Regional Office 13 Regional Director, Police Chief Superintendent Rolando B Felix, spearheaded the distribution of the Ninety Five (95) new Kawasaki 135 Rouser motorcycles today at Camp Rafael Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City.

The 95 new motorcycles were distributed as follows: Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office - 13, Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office-16, Butuan City Police Office - 7, Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office - 23, Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office - 21, Dinagat Islands Police Provincial Office – 9, and Support Units - 6.

The said motorcycle units will be handled by well-trained police riders who have undergone the Tactical Motorcycle Riding Course and basic maintenance and operations of the motorcycles.

Police Chief Superintendent Felix assured that the additional motorcycles in the Police Stations will enhance the efficiency of the police in providing public safety and conducting anti-criminality operations in Caraga region.

These 95 motorcycle units were part of the 2,449 units procured by the Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) in line with the PNP’s Capabilty Enhancement Program.

No. 2 Most Wanted in Illegal Drugs Arrested

Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- The number 2 Most Wanted Person in the Province of Agusan del Norte and also the number 2 target on drug personalities and number 5 Most Wanted Person in the Municipality of Nasipit, Agusan del Sur was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest ar around 11:00 a.m. yesterday.

Police Chief Supt Rolando Felix, Police Regional Office 13 Director, identified the arrested person as Rey Abadejos.
Abadejos was arrested by police operatives of Nasipit Municipal Police Station by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for illegal drugs with recommended bail bond of Php200,000.00.

Police Chief Superintendent Felix, said, “This success was a result of the intensified campaign against most wanted persons under Manhunt Charlie and with the strong partnership between the police and the community”.

FORCE WALK: A walk for Peace and Unity

PRO 13, Camp Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- Police Regional Office 13’s Public Safety Battalion conducted a 12 kilometer walk for unity and camaraderie among Public Safety Forces dubbed as “Force March” in the early morning of on October 7, 2016.

The unity walk started at Camp Rafael Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City towards Barangay Nong-nong where an outreach program was conducted.

During the program, the residents of Barangay Nongnong were given slippers, school supplies, toothbrush with toothpaste and food.

510 elementary and high school students of La Soledad benefited from the mass feeding program. 157 people availed the medical consultation and medicines, 87 for dental extraction, 78 for Operation “Tuli” and 70 senior citizens received reading.

PCSUPT ROLANDO B FELIX, Regional Director PRO 13, said that the activity was participated by 23rd IB , 29IB, Special Action Force (SAF), PRO 13 Public Safety Forces (Butuan City Public Safety Company, Agusan Del Sur Provincial Public Safety Company, Agusan Del Norte Provincial Public Safety Company), Regional Health Service 13 (RHS), Barangay Officials headed by Barangay Chairman Wilfredo M Membrillos of Barangay Nongnong, RESPOND Inc headed by Dr. Dexter Lara, MD, Department of Health (DOH), and Pedirico Mendez, Principal of La Soledad Elementary School.

The activity was organized by Regional Public Safety Battalion 13 to deliver services to the people of this remote area and to engender the community as partners of the PNP in the attainment of peace.

PRO 13 nabbed 12 Most Wanted Persons

Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City-------------The Caraga police arrested twelve Most Wanted Persons for various offenses in five provinces of Caraga yesterday.

Police Chief Superintendent ROLANDO B FELIX, PRO 13 Regional Director said the suspects were all apprehended by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by local courts.

The operation resulted in the apprehension of Rex Caseñas, Raymund Picos, Jerome Gastardo, Roberto Palejero, Jovito Hermoso, Evan Ranay, Fajad Pandiin, Jason Floreno, Susana Gabales, Ponciano Pagodar, Romeo Torres, and Roger Santos.

In Agusan del Sur, Caseñas was arrested for illegal drugs with recommend bail of Php200,000.00, while Picos was nabbed for Murder with no bail recommend. Arrested persons were the Top 2 and Top 3 Most Wanted Persons respectively in the Province of Agusan del Sur.

Gabales and Pagodar were arrested in Agusan del Norte for Child Abuse, while Torres for Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.

In Surigao del Norte, police operatives arrested Gastardo for Child Abuse and Palejero for R**e.

Police operatives of Butuan City Police Office nabbed four Most Wanted Persons, Hermosa for Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, Ranay for Carnapping, Pandiin for Robbery, and Floreno for Attempted Qualified Theft.

While Santos, the No. 9 Most Wanted Person in the Municipality of Lingig, Surigao del Norte was arrested for Frustrated Murder with recommended bail of Php200,000.00.

"This operation shows the effectiveness of the public’s cooperation in fighting criminality. Their active participation hastened the putting of criminals behind bars and giving justice to the victims of crimes.” PCSUPT FELIX said.

No. 2 and No. 3 Most Wanted Persons and 6 others arrested

Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City-----Police authorities arrested eight (8) most wanted persons in Caraga on September 28, 2016.

Chief Supt Rolando Felix, Police Regional Office 13 Director, identified the arrested persons as Justin Beray, Jose Daffon, Alden Bucong, RobertCorvera, Ricky Per, Dino Sumangyay, Sergio Apdo, and Romeo Villacorta.

Beray was arrested by police operatives of Criminal Investigation Detection Group and Butuan City Police Office for Qualified Theft. Arrested person is listed as No. 2 Most Wanted in the City.

Daffon is listed as No. 3 Most Wanted Person in the municipality of Sta. Josefa, Agusandel Norte and was arrested by police operatives of Sta. Josefa Municipal Police Station by virtue of Alias Warrant of Arrest for Qualified Theft.

The other Six (6) Most Wanted Personswere arrested for the following crime: Bucong was arrested for Attempted Murder,Corvera was arrested for Illegal Logging Per and Sumangyaywere arrested for Frustrated Murder,Apdo was nabbed for Slight Physical Injuries and Grave Threats, and Villacorta for Violation of Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.

Police Chief Superintendent Felix, said that this is part of the intensified and continuing campaign against Wanted Persons by the PNP.
