Representatives from various Cebu City Government departments recently took part in a workshop on "Maximizing Productivity with Google Workspace + Gemini," as the city continues its push toward full digitalization and more efficient delivery of public services to Cebuanos.
The hands-on learning session brought together city officials and staff alongside key partners from PLDT and ePLDT Inc., underscoring the collaborative approach the local government has taken in modernizing its operations.
Leading the delegation from the private sector were Clyde Maru, Relationship Manager at PLDT; Leigh Tena, Product Manager for Productivity and Collaboration at ePLDT Inc.; Ryan Pesimo, Product Manager for Multi-Cloud Infrastructure at ePLDT Inc.; and Jeffrey Guevarra, Cloud Infrastructure Lead Specialist and Platforms Engineer at ePLDT Inc. The team shared their expertise on cloud solutions and digital productivity systems tailored for government use.
The workshop centered on practical ways to leverage Google Workspace's suite of tools, integrated with Gemini's artificial intelligence capabilities, to streamline workflows and improve inter-department coordination within city hall.
City officials see initiatives like this as a critical step in building a more modern and responsive local government. By equipping public servants with the right digital tools and knowledge, Cebu City aims to deliver faster, more transparent, and more accessible services to its constituents.
The participation of PLDT and ePLDT Inc. signals a growing partnership between the Cebu City Government and the private sector in accelerating the city's digital transformation agenda, one workshop at a time.
