FULLY LIFTED NA ANG SUSPENSION SA BINALIW LANDFILL

NEWS UPDATE: DENR has fully lifted the suspension on the Binaliw landfill, according to Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival’s Chief of Staff Kenneth Siasar, who said Monday that the city government received a furnished copy of the agency’s decision.

However, Siasar said there is still no definite date for the resumption of dumping at the landfill, as the city government and the developer still need to undergo the required bidding process. | via Pia Piquero

Disinformation and lack of information have been cited as reasons behind the refusal of 486 parents to have their children vaccinated during the first week of Cebu City’s Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA).

Mayor Nestor Archival’s chief of staff, Kenneth Siasar, said Monday, August 17, 2026, that the city is working to address concerns and misinformation among parents as the campaign continues.

As of August 15, the city had vaccinated 9,227 children, or 10.18 percent of its target population of 90,604 children. | via CAV
