Here are the Local Government Units (LGUs) that have announced suspension of face-to-face classes due to transboundary haze from Indonesia wildfires.

1. Talisay City – all public schools; For private schools and the Talisay City College, the suspension of classes shall be at the discretion of their respective school administrators

2. Cebu City — all levels public and private

3. Minglanilla — all levels public and private

4. Carcar City — all levels public schools and Carcar City College; For private schools, the suspension of classes shall be at the discretion of their respective school administrators

5. Lapu-Lapu City — All levels public and private schools

6. Mandaue City – all public schools; For private schools, the suspension of classes shall be at the discretion of their respective school administrators

7. City Government of Naga– all public schools; For private schools and universities, the suspension of classes shall be at the discretion of their respective school administrators

A new Cebu tradition is born. Halad sa Pagtuo 2026 successfully brought together more than 7,000 spectators in a celebration of faith, culture, and Cebuano tradition as part of Cebu Province’s 457th Founding Anniversary.

Featuring a grand procession, Holy Mass, Halad sa Pagsayaw, and performances from seven festival contingents, the inaugural celebration showcased Cebu’s diverse traditions united in one stage.

With its successful debut and strong public turnout, Halad sa Pagtuo 2026 has set the stage for what could become another major annual festival in Cebu.

Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro stressed that being known as a “premier province” is not enough, saying its progress and development must be felt by every Cebuano. “Dili igo nga tawgon kita nga premier province, kinahanglan masinati kini sa matag Sugbuanon,” Baricuatro said during her second State of the Province Address on August 31, 2026.
