RIMTF Concludes 2026 LCPC Functionality Assessment

The Local Council for the Protection of Children Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (LCPC RIMTF), chaired by the DILG and co-chaired by the DSWD, along with its member agencies, and civil society partners like the DEPDev, DOH, DepEd, CNU, World Vision, RCWC, and RJJWC, successfully conducted two major child welfare evaluation activities.

On May 4, 2026, the task force kicked off the assessment with a thorough review of the Means of Verification (MOVs) submitted by provinces and highly urbanized cities, evaluating them against DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-039 across four core areas: Organizational Sustainability, Policies and Plans for Children, Budget Allocation, and Service Delivery Monitoring.

Following a week of data evaluation, the RIMTF reconvened on May 12, 2026, for the final deliberation to lock in official functionality ratings, categorizing councils into Basic, Progressive, Mature, or Ideal levels of functionality.

These dual activities reinforce local government accountability, with the finalized data serving as a vital tool to recognize top-performing LGUs in Central Visayas and provide technical assistance to struggling areas.

As the 2026 assessment wrapped up, RIMTF members were formally recognized for their dedicated commitment and invaluable contribution to the successful conduct of the assessment.

Residents in two barangays of Tudela, Camotes get to reap the benefits of clean water service, following the completion of a P13.3 million Level III Water System project funded under the Local Government Support Fund-Support and Assistance Fund to Participatory Budgeting (LGSF-SAFPB) program.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) 7 Director Leocadio Trovela and Provincial Director Dr. Jesus Robel Sastrillo Jr. led the turnover ceremony with Tudela Mayor Mayor Greman Solante on Wednesday, May 13 in Tudela, Camotes.

PDMD Chief Atty. Rommel Correa, Cluster Head LGOO VII Wyndell Valle, DILG field officers, regional and provincial personnel were present during the ceremonial turnover.

The Expansion of Tudela Water Works System is located in Barangays Secante Bag-o and Puertobello, Municipality of Tudela, Camotes, Cebu, is projected to be utilized by 490 beneficiaries.

𝗗𝗜𝗟𝗚 𝟳, 𝗠𝗦𝗔𝗖 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 ⬆️

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-7 convened the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Council (MSAC) for the first semester of FY 2026 via a hybrid meeting on May 12.

The meeting brought together regional line agencies, academic institutions, civil society organizations (CSOs), non-government organizations (NGOs), and professional groups comprising the Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC)—MSAC.

DILG-7’s LGCDD Chief Maria Thelya Oporto, in her opening message, underscored how active collaboration and knowledge exchange among MSAC members serve as catalysts in fostering good local governance in Central Visayas.

Partners DOE-VFO, TESDA, and the League of Planners presented their respective updates, programs, and initiatives that concern local government units.

The DILG regional office also shared updates on the Local Infrastructure Learning Hub, Amuma sa Barangay, LGCDD-CDP Consortium, and LGMED-Regional Institutional Development (RIDS).
