‎After the first inaugural session of the 17th Sangguniang Panglungsod of Cebu City, the standing committees have been reconstituted, ensuring their structure and membership reflect the current legislative priorities and needs of the local government.

‎As the new Chairman, City Councilor Winston Pepito is poised to lead the committee's initiatives in formulating and implementing policies aimed at enhancing the city's transportation system, strengthening communication frameworks, and ensuring the efficient delivery of essential utility services.

‎With his strong leadership skills and extensive experience as the former Barangay Captain of Barangay Bacayan, he is well-equipped to address the myriad challenges associated with this important role.

‎Councilor Pepito brings significant expertise in crisis management to his position, along with a steadfast dedication to public service, which will undoubtedly benefit the city. His leadership is marked by a vision for progress, a foundation of integrity, and a resolute commitment to improving the lives and welfare of the citizens of Cebu City.

‎Working alongside him is City Councilor Dave Tumulak, who assumes the role of Vice Chairman. He will collaborate closely with Councilor Pepito to bolster the council's commitment to both proactive and responsive traffic management and communication strategies. Their collaborative efforts are focused on creating a safer, more efficient, and harmonious Cebu City, to the benefit of all its residents.

📢 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT❗️

We regret to inform you that the SBLB INDEPENDENCE DAY BIKE RIDE 2025 scheduled for June 14, 2025, has been CANCELLED due to the following reasons:

1. PWD FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DISTRIBUTION: As mandated by the Cebu City Government, our staff, admins, and personnel, being government employees, will be deployed as Disbursement Officers for the PWD Financial Assistance Distribution on June 14, 2025. This duty takes priority, and we cannot proceed with the bike ride as planned.

2. UNEXPECTED CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL: Unforeseen circumstances have arisen, further complicating the logistics of the event. Despite our best efforts to mitigate these issues, we cannot guarantee the safety and success of the event under these conditions. The well-being and safety of our participants are our top priority, and we cannot compromise on these aspects.

3. BAD WEATHER CONDITION: The detected/expected bad weather on June 14, 2025, would significantly compromise the safety and enjoyment of the bike ride. Riding in wet roads and bad weather poses potential risks to cyclists, including reduced visibility, slippery roads, and increased stopping distances. Given these risks, we have made the decision to cancel the event to ensure the safety of all participants.

We understand that this cancellation may cause disappointment, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our participants, supporters, and partners. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to organizing future events that will be enjoyable and safe for everyone.
