14CMOBn Strengthens Troop Wellness Through Tennis Fellowship

CAMP LAPULAPU, Cebu City — The 14th Civil-Military Operations “Katipanan” Battalion (14CMOBn), CMOR, Philippine Army, conducted a tennis fellowship at the Visayas Command Tennis Court, Camp Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City, as part of its continuing efforts to promote physical fitness, camaraderie, and the well-being of its personnel.

Led by Lieutenant Colonel Norley C. Oropesa PA, Battalion Commander, together with the officers, team leaders, and platoon sergeants of the battalion, the activity provided personnel with an opportunity to engage in physical exercise while strengthening teamwork and fellowship beyond their regular duties.

Private First Class John Anthony Carl Flores PA was recognized for sharing his knowledge and skills in tennis. He provided basic instruction on proper stance, positioning, and racket handling to help participants develop their fundamentals and confidence in the sport.

The activity highlights the Battalion’s commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle while sustaining the morale, welfare, and camaraderie of its troops. Through activities such as this, the 14CMOBn continues to foster a fit, cohesive, and mission-ready force.

14CMOBn Joins Mandaue City’s Inter-Agency Coordination for Undas 2026

CAMP LAPULAPU, Cebu City — The 14th Civil-Military Operations “Katipanan” Battalion (14CMOBn), CMOR, Philippine Army, participated in the First Coordination Meeting for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day 2026 at the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), Mandaue City, Cebu.

The meeting was attended by First Lieutenant Paula May Pamittan PA, Company Commander of 2nd Civil-Military Operations Company (2CMOC), together with Corporal Flores, and was presided over by Police Colonel Cirilo B. Acosta Jr., Mandaue City Police Office Director (MCPOD). The activity aimed to synchronize the preparations of concerned agencies and stakeholders to ensure public safety, security, peace and order, and the smooth observance of Undas 2026.

Representatives from various government agencies, city offices, and barangays discussed their respective preparations, areas of responsibility, traffic management measures, emergency response capabilities, and communication procedures in anticipation of the expected influx of cemetery visitors, motorists, commuters, and other members of the public. The discussions also emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination and timely information sharing to address potential incidents and ensure a prompt response to emergencies.

As part of the agreed security measures, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) was tasked to provide one Quick Reaction Force (QRF) team during the Undas deployment from 30 October to 02 November 2026, to be stationed at the MCPO Command Center. This arrangement aims to strengthen the coordinated response of participating agencies throughout the observance.

The participation of 2CMOC underscores the 14CMOBn’s continued commitment to inter-agency cooperation and community safety. Through active coordination with local government offices, law enforcement agencies, and barangay stakeholders, the unit supports collaborative efforts to maintain a safe, peaceful, and orderly observance of Undas 2026 in Mandaue City.

14CMOBn Supports Youth Outreach on Recycling, Food Security in Cambinocot

CAMP LAPULAPU, Cebu City — The 14th Civil-Military Operations “Katipanan” Battalion (14CMOBn), CMOR, Philippine Army, provided Civil-Military Operations (CMO) assistance during the conduct of “From Bottle to Table: Growing Food Through Recycling” at Barangay Cambinocot, Cebu City.

Led by First Lieutenant Krinz Ivy Rabi PA, Company Commander, the 14CMOBn supported the Cebu Youth Ambassadors, Inc., headed by Ma. Xandra Satchie Bihag, Vice President for Learning and Development, in partnership with the SWULASTICUS Scholars Organization of Southwestern University (SWU).

The outreach program designed to promote environmental awareness, recycling, sustainability, and food security among young learners. As part of the Battalion’s continuing information engagement efforts, personnel also distributed information leaflets on the West Philippine Sea (WPS) to promote awareness and understanding of the issue among the participants.

The activity highlighted the value of collaboration among youth organizations, academic institutions, community stakeholders, and the Philippine Army in empowering young learners and promoting responsible environmental practices.

The outreach activity was successfully conducted with no untoward incident reported, further strengthening the 14CMOBn’s commitment to supporting community-based initiatives that contribute to education, environmental stewardship, and resilient communities.

ARMY CARES I 14CMOBn Supports LGU Empowerment Through Dagyawan sa Barangay in Cordova

CAMP LAPULAPU, Cebu City — The 14th Civil-Military Operations “Katipanan” Battalion (14CMOBn), CMOR, Philippine Army, provided Civil-Military Operations (CMO) assistance during the conduct of “Dagyawan sa Barangay,” a Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) activity held in Cordova City, Cebu.

Led by First Lieutenant Krinz Ivy Rabi PA, Company Commander of 1st Civil-Military Operations Company (1CMOC), together with personnel from the Joint Task Group-Cebu led by Lieutenant Colonel Benedicto, Executive Officer, the team supported the activity focused on local government empowerment, community engagement, and the delivery of basic services.

The activity featured Ugnayan sa Barangay, community discussions, and a service caravan, conducted in coordination with various local government agencies and friendly forces. The activity was presided over by Hon. Cesar Suan, City Mayor of Cordova.

As part of its information engagement efforts, personnel of 1CMOC distributed information leaflets on the West Philippine Sea (WPS) to participants, promoting public awareness and informed understanding of national issues.

Mayor Suan expressed his appreciation to the personnel of 1CMOC and 14CMOBn for their CMO assistance and support to the activity, highlighting the importance of collaboration among government agencies and stakeholders in addressing the needs of the community.

Through sustained engagement with local communities and government partners, the 14CMOBn continues to strengthen collaboration, promote awareness, and support initiatives that contribute to responsive governance and community development.

Better Grounds, Better Workplace: Small Improvements That Matter

CAMP LAPULAPU, Cebu City - Not every accomplishment has to be big to make a difference. Sometimes, the improvements that matter most are those that respond to simple, everyday needs of the people in the workplace.

Under the initiative of LTCOL NORLEY C OROPESA, Battalion Commander of the 14th Civil-Military Operations “Katipanan” Battalion, selected portions of the Battalion’s grounds underwent cementing, pavement improvement, and asphalting. The project addressed uneven and worn areas and provided personnel and vehicles with safer and more convenient access within the camp.

The improvement may be modest, but it reflects a practical approach to taking care of the unit. A better working environment contributes to safety, orderliness, and the general welfare of personnel. It also shows the importance of making good use of available resources and attending to needs that affect the troops every day.

The project was made possible with the support of stakeholders who generously shared resources and assistance. Their support, combined with the hard work of the officers and enlisted personnel of the 14CMO Battalion, turned the initiative into something concrete and useful. The troops themselves contributed their time, effort, and skills in improving the place where they work and serve.

Improving the Battalion also means paying attention to practical needs that can easily be overlooked. Taking care of available facilities and working together can make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of personnel.

Better grounds make for a better workplace. And sometimes, it is these small, practical improvements that matter.

14CMOBn Enhances Combat Medical Readiness Through TC3 Training

CAMP LAPULAPU, Cebu City – The 14th Civil-Military Operations “Katipanan” Battalion, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Philippine Army, conducted Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3) Training at Determinados Hall, Headquarters 14CMOBn, to enhance the medical response capabilities and emergency preparedness of its personnel.

Led by Lieutenant Colonel Norley C. Oropesa PA, Battalion Commander, the training forms part of the Battalion’s continuing efforts to strengthen the physical fitness readiness, medical preparedness, and skill sets of its personnel, particularly in responding to emergencies and operational contingencies.

The training was facilitated by Hyro Ensertado, Emergency Medical Technician and instructor from the Philippine Red Cross Cebu Chapter, who provided instruction on basic first aid, casualty assessment, immediate medical interventions, and proper response procedures for injured personnel.

Through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practical exercises, the Katipanan Troopers enhanced their ability to provide timely and appropriate care to casualties before the arrival of advanced medical support. The skills gained are essential in combat operations and equally applicable during humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) missions, as well as other natural and man-made emergencies.

The training further reinforces the Battalion’s commitment to maintaining a competent, resilient, and mission-ready force capable of responding effectively when lives are at risk.
