To address the rising burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), the Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH Central Visayas CHD) conducted an Integrated Training on the Philippine Package on Essential Non-Communicable Diseases Intervention (PhilPEN) and Basic Foot Care on May 12โ14, 2026, at Sarrosa Hotel and Residential Suites, Cebu City.
The initiative integrated the prevention and management of major noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), particularly cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases, into primary health care. Through the implementation of the PhilPEN protocol, the Department of Health aimed to standardize screening and improve equitable access to care in support of Universal Health Care (UHC) goals.
