🌱👶🤱 Strong communities begin with healthy mothers, healthy children, and empowered families.
As malnutrition continues to challenge many communities, initiatives like this remind us that nutrition is everyone’s responsibility — mothers, fathers, families, health workers, and the entire community working together for healthier generations ahead.
The successful 3-day Maternal, Infant and Young Child Feeding (MIYCF) Training hosted by the Municipal Health Office of Liloan showcased the LGU’s strong commitment to nutrition and the fight against malnutrition through collaborative and holistic approaches.
Led by Dr. Simon Clyde Caputol together with Municipal Public Health Doctors, Dr. Czarina Marie V. Asentista, and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, Dr. Marie Christine P. Quiseo-Tagalog, the activity strengthened the knowledge and skills of our dedicated BNSs and midwives in promoting proper maternal and infant nutrition, complementary feeding, breastfeeding support, and the vital role of fathers in child care and nutrition.
Special thanks to Vice Mayor Margo Frasco for sharing an inspiring message of support for nutrition and public health initiatives. Congratulations as well to the hardworking organizing team, especially Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator (MNPC) Ms. Hazel O. Talon, RN, and BNS/BHW Focal Ms. Maria Jennie Canete, for making this meaningful activity a success. And to all the participants who made this training possible.
