𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐈𝐎 𝐎𝐒𝐌𝐄Ñ𝐀 𝐒𝐑.: 𝐀 𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐂𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄

“𝘒𝘢𝘯𝘪 𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘶𝘨𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘥𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘶𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘯.” Today, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of Lahug National High School (Night) joins fellow Cebuanos in commemorating Osmeña Day and honoring the life and legacy of Sergio Osmeña Sr., a son of Cebu whose dedication to public service became an enduring part of our nation's history. Born in Cebu on September 9, 1878, he rose from serving his home province to becoming the first Speaker of the Philippine Assembly, Vice President, and eventually President of the Philippine Commonwealth.

For us Cebuanos, his legacy is more than a name we read in history books. It is a reminder of the values we hold close: service, humility, unity, and love for our community. May his life continue to inspire us, especially as young Sugboanons, to honor where we come from and use our voices, abilities, and opportunities to serve others.

Today, we remember not only a statesman, but a fellow Cebuano whose life helped shape the Philippines. May we keep his legacy alive through the way we lead, serve, and care for the community we call home.

For this Teacher's Month, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) presents “The Lanterns of Unwritten Stars,” a poetic tribute to the quiet yet profound influence of educators. Like lanterns along an unfamiliar path, teachers illuminate possibilities we may not yet see, nurture the potential we have yet to recognize, and remind us that sometimes, the light we are searching for has been within us all along.

This piece is dedicated to every educator whose guidance becomes part of their students' journey, long after the classroom is left behind. May their light continue to live in every dream they have encouraged, every courage they have awakened, and every future they have helped us believe in.

To the teachers who welcome us into their classrooms, patiently answer our questions, remind us when we lose focus, and continue to believe in us even on the days we struggle, this celebration is for you. The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of Lahug National High School (Night) joins every Lahugian in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to the educators who give so much of themselves to help us learn, grow, and become better versions of who we are. Your words may be part of an ordinary school day, but the lessons you leave in our hearts can stay with us for a lifetime. 📚

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) warmly welcomes 𝐌𝐚'𝐚𝐦 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐌. 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐣𝐨 to Lahug National High School (Night) as a Mathematics and MAPEH teacher for Grade 7. She will also be serving as the new adviser of 7-Buttercup, taking over the responsibilities previously handled by 𝐌𝐚'𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬.

Today, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of Lahug National High School (Night) joins the Filipino nation in commemorating National Heroes Day. We remember the men and women who stood for our people, our freedom, and our nation, often placing the welfare of others before their own. Their courage became part of the story of the Philippines, and their sacrifices continue to give meaning to the freedoms we experience today.

Their legacy reminds us that loving our country is more than remembering names and dates in history. It is reflected in how we treat one another, how we serve our communities, how we use the opportunities given to us, and how willing we are to stand for what is right. As young Filipinos, we may not share the same battles as the heroes who came before us, but we have our own responsibility to make a difference where we can.

Today, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government family celebrates not only the birthday of our beloved adviser, but also one of the most important people behind our little SSLG family, 𝐌𝐚'𝐚𝐦 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐨.

To our Ma'am Sol, our adviser, mentor, and the person we have lovingly come to call our SSLG Mom, thank you for always being there for us. Thank you for guiding us through our ideas, helping us through our challenges, listening to our concerns, and believing in us even when we sometimes doubt ourselves. Behind every project, every meeting, every plan, and yes, even our moments of complete chaos, you've been there to keep us going. You are truly one of the biggest reasons our SSLG family continues to stand strong.

You've become more than just our adviser. You've become someone we can look up to, learn from, and genuinely feel grateful to have in our lives. We may not always say it, but we appreciate every bit of patience, effort, and care you give to us. You have helped us grow not only as student leaders, but also as people, and that is something we will always carry with us.
