One dedicated learner, accompanied by his clinical instructor, joined our Wheelchair FIX workshop with focus and purpose.

A short presentation on our mission to restore mobility set the stage for hands-on impact. Guided by our skilled technician, Rico Taborada, the student jumped into the basics of wheelchair repair, tackling essential tasks that unlock freedom for others.

With one student’s curiosity, tools turned, wheels spun, and impact grew. It’s more than knowledge, it’s meaningful change.

Grit, tools, and purpose - students dive into the real work of mobility.

This week, a new group of students from different schools in the region stepped into the Wheelchair FIX workshop, ready to get their hands dirty and their minds engaged.

After a quick walkthrough of who we are and why we do what we do, it was straight to the tools. Guided by our in-house technician, Rico Taborada, students learned how to assess, adjust, and engage in the process of wheelchair repair but not just in theory, but in action.

They learned how to safely handle and open wheelchairs, put air in the tires, and understand the basics of everyday wheelchair care. Simple steps, but with powerful implications for someone’s freedom and independence.

Screws turned, wheels spun, questions flew. It wasn’t just about fixing equipment; it was about understanding how small adjustments can mean life-changing mobility for someone else.
These workshops aren’t just a glimpse into a future profession, they’re a reminder that every skill can serve a bigger purpose.

A meaningful day at the Wheelchair FIX workshop! 🛠️♿

The visit began with a presentation on our history and mission, sharing how we work to help restore mobility and independence through wheelchair donations, maintenance, and repair.

Afterward, students got a closer look at the action with a demonstration by our skilled technician, Rico Taborada, who walked them through the repair process and the heart behind the work we do.
