MINGLANILLA POLICE STATION STEPS UP OPERATIONS, NETS 107 SUSPECTS IN FIRST QUARTER OF 2025

Minglanilla, Cebu – In its continued commitment to ensuring public safety and fostering a secure environment, the Minglanilla Municipal Police Station (MPS), under the leadership of Acting Chief of Police PMAJ MARK DON ALFRED P. LEANZA, intensified its anti-crime operations during the first quarter of 2025, resulting in the arrest of 107 individuals for various offenses.

The success of these efforts stems from strategic police action and strong community cooperation. From January to March 2025, the following accomplishments were recorded:

🔹 27 individuals arrested under the campaign against wanted persons
🔹 5 suspects apprehended for focus crimes
🔹 21 persons charged for other criminal offenses
🔹 33 drug suspects arrested in anti-illegal drug operations
🔹 21 individuals apprehended for illegal gambling activities

These results highlight the police station’s firm resolve to safeguard the community by actively preventing crime and holding offenders accountable. Residents have expressed greater confidence in the local police due to increased visibility, quicker response times, and strengthened partnerships with barangays and civil society groups.

As the May 2025 National, Local, and BARMM Elections approach, Minglanilla MPS is further strengthening its presence and coordination efforts to ensure a safe, peaceful, and orderly electoral process. The police remain fully committed to working hand-in-hand with the local government, barangay officials, and the people of Minglanilla in preserving peace and promoting a safer community for all.

𝙋𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙎 𝙍𝙀𝙇𝙀𝘼𝙎𝙀 ||

𝗣𝟯.𝟰-𝗠 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗕𝗨 𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗕𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗬 𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗦!

Around 09:53 PM of January 27, 2024, Abellana Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) personnel led by PCPT MARK DON ALFRED P LEANZA, Station Commander conducted an anti–illegal drug operation thru Buy-Bust operation at Sitio Lower Kawayan, Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City which resulted to the arrest of one (1) male suspect aka "𝙅𝙄𝙈𝘽𝙊𝙔", 28 years old and a resident of Belgium Street, Barangay Suba, Cebu City for violation of Sec. 5, Art. II of R.A. 9165 after selling one (1) heat- sealed transparent plastic pack containing white crystalline substance to a Police Poseur buyer. Subsequently, during body search, nine (9) heat-sealed transparent plastic packs of suspected Shabu were found in his possession, thus, he was again arrested for violation of Section 11, Article ll of R.A. 9165. A total weight of 𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙨 of illegal drug was confiscated with estimated Market Price of 𝟯,𝟰𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬.𝟬𝟬 pesos.

Suspect was informed of his constitutional rights in a dialect known and understood by him and now under custody of this station pending for filing of formal charges against him at Prosecutor’s office.

The arrest of the suspect contributes a great impact in the maintenance peace and order in the community especially in the combat against illegal drugs. Rest assured that Abellana Police Station will not tolerate such acts and be relentless in the campaign against all forms of criminality.

Usa ka minor de edad ang napusilan kagahapong adlawa Enero 22, 2024 pasado alas 10:00 sa gabii sa Sitio Lower Kawayan, Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City. Ang biktima mao si alyas “𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻”, lalaki, 14 anyos ug nagpuyo sa Sitio Potat, Barangay Tinago, Cebu City. Ang mamumuno mao si alyas “𝗚𝗶𝗱𝗼”, lalaki, 25 anyos ug usa ka "𝙍𝙀𝙂𝙄𝙊𝙉𝘼𝙇 𝙇𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙇 𝙈𝙊𝙎𝙏 𝙒𝘼𝙉𝙏𝙀𝘿 # 5" sa kaso nga "𝙈𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧".

Basi sa imbestigasyon nga nakalap ni PSMS Jephthah Jumawan, imbestigador sa Abellana Police Station, ang biktima namisita sa iyang uyab nga nagpuyo sa Barangay Sambag 2 ning dakbayan. Asoy sa mga nakakita, silos ang gitumbok nga maoy hinongdan sa pagpamusil sa suspek ngadto sa biktima nga naigo sa walang dapit sa iyang paa ug dali-dali kining gikuha sa Cebu City Ambulance ug gidala sa Cebu City Medical Center.

Ang mga sakop sa Abellana Police Station nga gipangulohan sa hepe nga si PCPT MARK DON ALFRED PUAZO LEANZA ug mga sakop sa Police Station 3 nga gipangulohan usab sa ilang hepe nga si PMAJ EFREN DIAZ mikasa dayon ug hot pursuit operation batok sa mamumuno hinungdan sa iyang pagkadakop. Nakuha gikan sa suspek ang 1 ka cal. 45 pistol STI Ranger II, magasin nga naay sulod nga lima (5) ka buhing bala ug usa (1) kabhang sa bala.

Ang suspetsado gipahibalo kini sa iyang sala nga nabuhat ug sa mga tawhanong katungod. Gidala siya sa Abellana Police Station para sa pormal nga pagsang-at ug kaso batok kaniya ngadto sa korte.

Ang pagdakop sa suspetsado naghatag ug dako nga epekto sa pag-amuma sa kalinaw ug kahapsay sa komunidad. Ang Abellana Police Station kanunay nga magpadayon sa tahas sa pagsumpo sa mga iligal nga buhat, batok iligal nga droga ug laing porma sa kriminalidad.

A hero worth remembering.

In the silent embrace of the night, PCpl Ryan Baculi whispered his final goodbye, his life a selfless testament to the unwavering pursuit of justice and safety for all.

Ryan as he is fondly called by intimates, paid the ultimate sacrifice past midnight yesterday, November 15, 2023, during an anti-drugs operation in Kinasangan, Cebu City.

Two notorious criminals shot him at point blank while Ryan and his team were performing their sacred duty of ridding Central Visayas of the illegal drugs manace. The assailants hurriedly escaped, with one sustaining injuries.

As his fellow officers, we pledge relentless efforts to bring these perpetrators to justice, honoring due process throughout. Our commitment to this pursuit is unwavering; we will not rest, we will not sleep until his heartless killers are held accountable.

Simultaneously, a thorough, impartial investigation is underway to ascertain the truth behind reports that barangay security personnel aided the suspects.

Though hardly eases the pain, PRO 7 is now looking after the bereaved family, their welfare being a priority. Benefits due to them will be afforded the soonest possible time.

Our hearts are heavy. We shed our collective tears of sadness.

Ryan, a bemedalled police officer, possessed of a calm demeanor but with an unparalleled tenacity in work, leaves behind a wife and five children. His untimely passing is a profound loss to us all.

PRO 7 remains steadfast in its battle against illegal drugs, now with even greater determination. We vow to continue this fight until the last criminal is brought to justice.

TAN-AWA: Usa ka buy-bust operation ang gilunsad sa mga kapulisan Abellana Police Station 2 didto sa Brgy. Sambag 1 ning maong syudad pasado alas 9:50 sa kagabion niadtong Nobyembre 7, 2023 nga niresulta sa pagkarescue sa maong menor de edad.

Nakuha gikan sa maong rescued minor ang 1 ka pakete nga gituohang shabu. Sa dugang nga pagsusi, nakuha ang laing 7 ka gagmay nga pakete nga gituohang shabu nga may kinatibuk-ang kantidad P2,720.00 ug 1 ka armas kalibre 9 mm nga adunay 4 ka buhing bala nakasukmit sa magazine niini.

Padayun ang gihimong imbestigasyon sa kapulisan. Kasamtangan nga anaa sa kostudiya sa maong buhatan ang rescued minor arun sa pagsusi ug pagprotehir sa katungod sa maong CICL.
