The Department of Agrarian Reform Region VII (DAR VII) provided vital agricultural support to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) of the Malbago Farmers Association Inc. (MAFA Inc.) through the turnover of farm machinery and agricultural inputs at Malbago, Daanbantayan, Cebu, on August 27, 2026.
The assistance, provided under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program (CRFPS) - Major Crop-based Block Farm Productivity Enhancement (MCBFPE), includes a tractor with rotary tiller and disc plow, corn sheller-dehusker, forage chopper or shredder, and fertilizers.
The interventions are not only expected to compliment the associationโs existing agricultural activities, it is also intended to improve the efficiency of farm operations, optimize land use, lessen the labor and time required for farm activities, and increase crop productivity.
Led by Leonida C. Epe, the Malbago Farmers Association Inc. is composed of 122 ARBs. Corn is the association's main crop, but its members also cultivate banana, vegetables, and root crops, while engaging in livestock and poultry raising.
Among the officials present during the turnover were DAR Region VII Regional Director Melvin Castor V. Silvestre, Daanbantayan Mayor Atty. Gilbert M. Arrabis Jr., and Malbago Barangay Captain Reynaldo Misa, together with Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Christian Louis G. Luna, OIC-PARPO I Judly O. Li, and other local government executives and employees from the regional and provincial offices of DAR Region VII.
