𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬‐‐ 𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦

The Cebu City Government is closely monitoring the effects of the recent eruption of Kanlaon Volcano as reported by PHIVOLCS.

In view of the reported volcanic ashfall affecting Cebu City, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO) is closely coordinating with PHIVOLCS, PAGASA, and other concerned agencies to continuously monitor the situation and issue appropriate advisories.

𝗔𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲.

The public is advised to:
• Remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.
• Monitor only official advisories from PHIVOLCS, PAGASA, and the Cebu City Government.
• Wear face masks when outdoors, especially children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and individuals with respiratory conditions.
• Stay indoors as much as possible if ashfall becomes heavier and report any emergency concerns to your Barangay officials or the CCDRRMO.

The Cebu City Government remains on heightened alert and is committed to safeguarding the health and welfare of all Cebuanos. Further updates will be issued as the situation develops.

Face-to-Face Classes Suspended in Cebu City February 10, 2026

The Cebu City Government has announced the suspension of face-to-face classes at all levels across the city effective immediately today, February 10, 2026.

The decision was made following the recommendation of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to ensure the safety of learners, teachers, and school personnel amid prevailing conditions.

All public and private schools are directed to shift to modular or other alternative learning modes while the suspension is in effect.

The City Government urges residents to remain vigilant and to monitor official channels for further advisories and updates.
