The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Cebu, led by FELIXBERTO M. SATO JR., Supervising Statistical Specialist (Officer-in-Charge), and Team, together with WILMA A. PERANTE, Director II and OIC-Regional Director, PSA RSSO VII, and Team, conducted the Livestock and Poultry Administrative Data (LaPAD) Refresher Training and Tablet Distribution on 10 August 2026 at the Golden Prince Hotel and Suites, Cebu City.

The activity aimed to strengthen the implementation of the LaPAD Reporting System and enhance the capacity of concerned personnel in the timely, accurate, and reliable reporting of livestock and poultry administrative data.

It also reinforced the collaboration among the PSA, Department of Agriculture (DA), and Local Government Units (LGUs) in ensuring the availability of quality and reliable administrative data essential to the production of accurate and timely livestock and poultry statistics.

Through strengthened coordination, capacity building, and digital tools, the PSA continues to promote quality administrative data for informed decision-making and evidence-based planning.

In 2023, the national poverty incidence among families was recorded at 10.9%, equivalent to 2.99 million poor families whose incomes were below the poverty threshold.

Meanwhile, the poverty incidence among the population was estimated at 15.5%, translating or around 17.54 million Filipinos whose incomes were insufficient to meet their basic food and non-food needs.

The Philippine Statistics Authority – Cebu Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Cebu PSO), in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), successfully conducted the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Orientation.

The activity equipped PSA Cebu PSO with a better understanding of how PNPKI enhances the security, authenticity, and integrity of electronic documents and transactions using digital certificates and electronic signatures. As government services continue to embrace digital transformation, initiatives like this help ensure that our transactions remain secure, efficient, and legally recognized.

READ | PSA, BSP, and SEC sign MOA for improved Foreign Direct Investment data sharing for better policies, stronger investor confidence

As part of its continuing efforts to strengthen the country’s statistical system, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) together with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to further enhance Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) data sharing that supports sound economic policies and boosts investor confidence.

The agreement allows SEC to share relevant corporate registration records and other investment-related data, with the PSA as the central repository for FDI data and the BSP as the compiler of official FDI statistics. The said data will be shared through SEC’s digital platforms, including the SEC Swift Corporate and Other Records Exchange (SCORE) Protocol and the SEC API Marketplace.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) strengthened its partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) to further enhance the quality, timeliness, and use of agriculture and fisheries data in support of evidence-based decisions and national food security efforts.

Among the key areas discussed were improving data collection, sharing, and management to support the formulation of policies and programs for agriculture and fisheries sectors.

By strengthening collaboration and improving the country's agricultural data systems, the PSA and the DA aim to provide policymakers, local governments, and stakeholders with reliable information that supports better decisions for farmers, fisherfolk, and the Filipino people.
