𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: 𝗬𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬 A road cavity formed along 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗽𝗮𝘀, 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 following soil erosion believed to have been caused by a leaking or damaged 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 (𝗠𝗖𝗪𝗗) water pipeline.

The 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗥𝗥𝗠𝗢) Special Rescue Squad arrived at the site at 𝟱:𝟱𝟰 𝗽.𝗺. on Friday, August 7, to assess the situation.

Initial assessment showed that soil beneath the roadway had eroded, resulting in the formation of the cavity. No fatalities, injuries, or damaged vehicles were reported.

Responding personnel immediately secured the affected area and established a safety cordon to restrict public access and protect motorists and pedestrians from the potential hazard.

The rescue team, composed of five personnel from Rescue 1, together with personnel from the 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗖𝗧𝗢), remained on standby pending the arrival of MCWD personnel for further inspection and repair.

The affected portion remains secured as authorities coordinate with MCWD to address the damaged pipeline and assess the condition of the roadway.

The public is advised to exercise caution and avoid the affected portion of Salinas Drive until authorities declare the area safe.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: A 72-year-old woman was killed after she was crushed between an Isuzu Forward truck and another parked vehicle along 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 in 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻, 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗘𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗮, 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, on 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻, 𝗔𝘂𝗴. 𝟲.
Police identified the victim as 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗘𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗼, a resident of 𝗧𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Initial findings by the 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 (𝗧𝗘𝗨) showed that the truck was parked with its engine running while vegetables were being unloaded. Authorities said the 25-year-old truck helper from 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘆𝗼𝗰, 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 entered the vehicle through the driver's side and accidentally shifted the gear while moving toward the passenger side, causing the truck to suddenly lurch forward.

The victim became trapped between the moving truck and another parked vehicle, sustaining critical injuries. She was rushed to 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, where she was declared dead on arrival.

Police have filed a case of 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 against the truck helper.

𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝘁. 𝗖𝗼𝗹. 𝗝𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗹, chief of the Traffic Enforcement Unit, said the tragedy could have been prevented had the truck's hand brake been properly engaged. He added that the 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗟𝗧𝗢) 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟳 has been requested to issue a show cause order against the truck's registered owner and suspend the vehicle's registration pending the outcome of the investigation.

Authorities responded to the scene to manage the incident and assess the situation. Further details regarding the cause of the collision, possible injuries, and the extent of the damage have yet to be released.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: An unidentified man was shot dead along 𝗥𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 in 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗾𝘂𝗲, 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 on 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗔𝘂𝗴. 𝟲.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been established, was reportedly wearing a brown shirt, blue jogger pants, and shoes at the time of the incident.

According to 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻, the victim arrived on a motorcycle and got off near the chapel, while the motorcycle driver remained waiting nearby.

Residents, including those attending prayers inside the chapel, heard several gunshots. When they rushed outside, they found the victim already lying lifeless on the ground, interrupting the ongoing prayer gathering.

Responding police officers recovered a mobile phone, a toll fee receipt, and ₱100 in cash from the victim as part of the investigation.

The 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is conducting an ongoing investigation to identify the victim, determine the motive behind the shooting, and locate those responsible.

The response was prompted by a threatening Facebook Messenger message reportedly received by a faculty staff member from an account identified as "𝗝𝗢𝗛𝗡 𝗗𝗔𝗩𝗘."

Following the report, authorities conducted a comprehensive security assessment and inspection of the school premises to ensure the safety of students, faculty members, and staff.

Police said no immediate threat was found during the inspection. However, an investigation remains ongoing to determine the source and credibility of the online message.

Authorities continue to coordinate with relevant units as part of efforts to identify the individual behind the alleged threat and maintain campus security.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Suspected human skeletal remains were discovered at a construction site in 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗼, 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 on 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟯𝟭, after workers excavating the area uncovered bones believed to be human.

According to 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗼, workers initially believed the first bones they found belonged to a dog. However, as excavation continued, additional bones suspected to be human remains were unearthed.

The workers also recovered a jacket and what appeared to be an incomplete human skull, prompting them to immediately report the discovery to local authorities.

𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗼 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀 said authorities have not yet confirmed whether the recovered remains are human. The barangay has requested assistance from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct proper processing and a thorough investigation.

According to Abastillas, the area where the remains were found had previously been covered with banana plants and had never been developed, making the discovery all the more significant.

Authorities are expected to carry out further forensic examination to determine the identity and origin of the skeletal remains.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Two 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟳 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 involved in a viral fistfight near 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗿𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 in 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻, 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 have been placed under a 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 following a case conference attended by their parents and concerned authorities.

The altercation occurred on 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟵, but the video gained widespread attention after circulating on 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 on 𝗔𝘂𝗴. 𝟯. During the 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, attended by the students' parents, the school principal, guidance counselor, class adviser, barangay officials, and 𝗚𝗔𝗗 representatives, all parties agreed to place the students under a diversion program supervised by the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 (𝗗𝗦𝗪𝗦) at the barangay level in coordination with the school.
