Ang harvest gihimo sa aktibong mga miyembro ug opisyal sa asosasyon human ang mga bangus miabot na sa marketable size ug hustong edad alang sa pag-ani. Bisan pa man og medyo ubos ang presyo sa merkado, gipadayon gihapon sa NAGMACA ang ilang harvesting activities aron mahatagan ang mga konsumante, ilabina sa lungsod sa Ronda, og presko ug de-kalidad nga bangus.

Ang unang bangus fish cage nga gi-stock niadtong Pebrero 2026 nakahatag og 2,214 kilos nga harvest ug ₱334,375.00 nga gross income, uban sa 90% survival rate. A

Samtang, ang ikaduhang cage nga gi-stock niadtong Marso 2026 nakaani og 2,326.5 kilos nga bangus ug nakahatag og ₱353,551.00 nga gross income, nga adunay 85% survival rate.

𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 — Gipalig-on sa Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 7 (BFAR7) pinaagi sa Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Phase II Program ang panginabuhian sa mga gagmay’ng mangingisda sa Bohol human mahatagan og livelihood interventions ang duha ka fisherfolk associations nga nagkantidad og kapin ₱1.09 milyon.

Nakabenepisyo niini ang Nagkahiusang Mananagat sa Bahi (NMB) sa Barangay Bahi, Alburquerque, Bohol, nga nakadawat og mga livelihood interventions nga nagkantidad og ₱582,184.00, samtang ang Bonkokan Ubos Fisherfolk Association (BUFA) sa Barangay Bonkokan Ubos, Lila, Bohol, nakadawat og assistance nga nagkantidad og ₱509,302.00.

Ang maong mga intervention kabahin sa 2026 SAAD Phase II livelihood assistance nga gitumong sa pagpalig-on sa capture fisheries, pagpauswag sa fishing operations, ug paghatag og mas maayong oportunidad sa panginabuhian alang sa mga fisherfolk.

𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 — The Malhiao United Coconut Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (MUCFACO), a beneficiary of the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Phase II Program of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Region 7, showcased the potential of value-added coconut products and generated ₱5,589.00 in total sales through its participation in the Cebu Coconut Market Expo 2026, held at Ayala Center Cebu.

Carrying the theme “Lubi, Bahandi sa Kinaiyahan, Kusog sa Panginabuhian,” the four-day expo brought together coconut farmers, cooperatives, entrepreneurs, government agencies, and other industry stakeholders to promote the diverse opportunities within the coconut industry.

MUCFACO was among the participating Coconut Farmers Cooperatives (CFCs) that showcased locally developed coconut-based products. The cooperative featured Cocotunes, an innovative value-added coconut product that attracted consumers during the trade event and contributed to the cooperative’s total sales.

As a SAAD Phase II beneficiary, MUCFACO’s participation in the expo reflects the program’s continuing efforts to support beneficiary organizations in developing sustainable livelihood opportunities, strengthening enterprise activities, and connecting farmers with potential markets.

Through initiatives such as trade fairs and market expos, coupled with livelihood and enterprise support under programs such as SAAD Phase II, coconut farmers and their cooperatives are given opportunities to strengthen their enterprises, expand their market reach, and develop more sustainable sources of income. # # #

Ang tulo ka adlaw nga pagbansay nagtumong sa pagpalambo sa kahibalo ug praktikal nga kahanas sa mga partisipante bahin sa hustong pagdumala sa isda human sa ani, pagproseso, product development, ug value-adding techniques aron makamugna og dugang nga oportunidad sa kita gikan sa ilang tilapia production.

Ang maong kalihokan kabahin sa padayon nga paningkamot sa BFAR-7 SAAD Phase II sa pagpalig-on sa kapasidad sa panginabuhian sa mga benepisyaryong fisherfolk pinaagi sa pagpalambo sa value-added fisheries products ug pagpauswag sa ilang kahanas sa pagdumala sa livelihood enterprise.

Pinaagi sa mga hands-on demonstration ug praktikal nga mga buluhaton, nakakat-on ang mga partisipante sa hustong post-harvest handling, food safety, sanitation, processing techniques, ug quality control nga gikinahanglan aron makahimo og luwas, dekalidad, ug mapamaligyang mga produkto.

Atol sa pagbansay, nakakat-on ang mga miyembro sa CATILGA sa pagproseso sa tilapia ngadto sa nagkalain-laing value-added products, lakip ang Tilanggit, Tilapia Noodles, Tilapia Noodles in Canton Style, Tilapia Chips nga adunay Barbecue ug Cheese flavors, Fish Tempura, Fish Balls, Fish Sausage, ug Tilapia Skin Chicharon.

Pinaagi sa praktikal nga mga sesyon, nasinati sa mga partisipante ang nagkalain-laing proseso sa pag-andam, pag-seasoning, pagluto, ug hustong pagdumala sa mga produkto, samtang gihatagan og dakong pagtagad ang kalimpyo, food safety, ug quality control.

Ang maong harvest gipahigayon sa aktibong mga miyembro ug opisyal sa asosasyon human ang ilang bangus miabot na sa marketable sizes ug andam na alang sa pagbaligya.

Sa wala pa ang harvest, nagpahigayon og meeting ang asosasyon aron pagplano sa ilang umaabot nga pag-ani. Nag-assign usab sila sa matag miyembro sa tagsa-tagsa nilang buluhaton aron masiguro nga hapsay ug organisado ang tibuok proseso.

Nagsugod ang harvesting alas 7:00 sa buntag ug nahuman kini mga alas 10:00 sa buntag. Human sa pag-ani, gipadayon dayon ang pagbaligya sa mga bangus ug nahurot kini ug nahalin mga alas 1:00 sa hapon.

Aron mas mapadali ug hapsay ang pagkuha sa mga isda, gipabalhin una sa mga miyembro ang bangus ngadto sa 5x5-meter cage nga adunay bag-ong net. Nag-andam usab sila og patyanan o chilling tank nga adunay gamay nga tubig ug ice aron mapreserbar ang kalidad ug kabugnaw sa mga isda human sa pag-ani.

Ang presyo sa bangus nagdepende sa gidak-on ug quantity nga gipalit, diin ang farm-gate prices mao ang mosunod. ₱150.00/kilo – 3 pieces per kilo, ₱155.00/kilo – 5 pieces per 2 kilos og ₱160.00/kilo – 2 pieces per kilo.

Dili lamang sa Ronda napunta ang mga naaning bangus sa BAFA. Nakabaligya usab ang asosasyon sa mga silingan nga lungsod sama sa Dumanjug, Moalboal, Badian, Alcantara, ug Samboan, nga nagpakita sa nagkadakong market reach ug panginahanglan alang sa ilang produkto.

Ang maong market expansion usa ka maayong oportunidad alang sa BAFA aron mas mapalapad pa ang ilang customer base ug mapadayon ang regular nga pagbaligya sa ilang mga produkto. Pinaagi sa pag-abot sa merkado sa mga silingang lungsod, mas daghan usab nga fisherfolk ang makabenepisyo gikan sa kita nga namugna sa ilang aquaculture enterprise.

Ang malampusong harvest nakahatag og dakong kalipay sa mga miyembro ug opisyal sa BAFA, ilabina kay kini na ang ilang ika-upat nga cropping sa bangus culture in cage. Nagpakita kini sa ilang padayong paningkamot sa pagdumala sa proyekto ug sa ilang determinasyon nga mapadayon ang fisheries livelihood nga ilang nasugdan.

TAGBILARAN, BOHOL — Nakadawat og nagkadaiyang livelihood project interventions nga mokabat sa ₱1,357,733 ang Solomon Fishermen Association (SOLFA) sa De La Paz, Cortes ug Loay Fishermen Association (LOFA) sa Loay, Bohol isip kabahin sa padayong paningkamot sa Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources pinaagi sa Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Phase II sa pagpalig-on sa panginabuhian sa mga fisherfolk associations sa rehiyon.

Nakabenepisyo niini ang Solomon Fishermen Association (SOLFA) sa De La Paz, Cortes, Bohol, nga nakadawat og livelihood interventions nga nagkantidad og ₱732,100, samtang ang Loay Fishermen Association (LOFA) sa Loay, Bohol, nakadawat og mga production inputs nga nagkantidad usab og ₱625,633.

Ang mga intervention nga gihatag ubos sa 2026 SAAD Phase II Project gitumong aron masuportahan ang aquaculture, capture fisheries, ug post-harvest activities sa duha ka associations, ug aron matabangan sila sa pagpalambo sa ilang produksyon ug pag-diversify sa ilang tinubdan sa kita.

Alang sa SOLFA, ang ₱732,100 nga assistance naglangkob sa nagkadaiyang intervention para sa ilang fisheries livelihood activities.

Nakadawat ang asosasyon og duha ka units sa bangus fish pens, lakip ang gikinahanglang production support alang sa ilang aquaculture enterprise. Nakadawat usab sila og feeds ug bangus fingerlings para sa usa ka unit sa fish cage, ingon man post-harvest materials nga gitumong aron mapalambo ang pagdumala, pagpreserba, ug pag-atiman sa ilang mga produkto sa pangisdaan.

Pinaagi sa dugang nga intervention, gilauman nga mas mapalambo pa sa SOLFA ang ilang aquaculture activities ug mas mapadayon ang ilang fisheries enterprise alang sa kaayohan sa ilang mga miyembro.

Samtang, nakadawat ang LOFA og livelihood interventions nga nagkantidad og ₱625,633 aron masuportahan ang nagkadaiyang fisheries activities sa asosasyon.

Lakip niini ang usa ka unit sa nursery pond project ug feeds aron masuportahan ang operasyon sa ilang duha ka units sa bangus fish cages. Gihatagan usab sila og drift gill net alang sa anchovy fishing ug tilapia feeds aron masuportahan ang ilang tilapia pond culture project.

Ang kombinasyon sa aquaculture facilities, production inputs, ug fishing gear gilauman nga makatabang sa LOFA sa pagpadayon sa ilang kasamtangang proyekto, pagdugang sa produksyon, ug pagpalapad sa ilang mga oportunidad sa panginabuhian.

Sa Bohol, gipadayon sa programa ang pagpatuman sa mga fisheries projects sa nagkadaiyang lungsod aron mapalig-on ang fisherfolk livelihoods ug mapauswag ang community-based enterprises.

Gidasig usab ang SOLFA ug LOFA nga hapsay nga dumalahon ug ampingan ang mga proyekto ug kagamitan nga gihatag sa gobyerno, sundon ang hustong aquaculture ug fishing practices, magtipig og tukmang production ug financial records, ug magtinabangay aron masiguro ang kalungtaran sa ilang mga livelihood enterprises.

Sa kinatibuk-an, ang ₱1.35 milyon nga livelihood assistance alang sa SOLFA ug LOFA nagrepresentar sa dugang nga oportunidad alang sa mga fisherfolk sa Bohol nga mapalambo ang ilang produksyon, mapalapad ang ilang tinubdan sa kita, ug makatukod og mas lig-on ug malungtarong fisheries-based enterprises.

Pinaagi sa padayong implementasyon sa SAAD Phase II, ang BFAR nagtinguha nga mapalambo dili lamang ang kapasidad sa mga fisherfolk sa produksiyon, kondili usab ang ilang organisasyon, enterprise development, value chains, ug access sa merkado padulong sa mas lig-on ug malungtarong panginabuhian. # # #

𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 – Gipadayon sa Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Office 7 (BFAR-7), pinaagi sa Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Phase II Program, ang regular nga pagmonitor sa mga benepisyaryong fisherfolk organizations sa Central Visayas isip kabahin sa pagpalig-on sa implementasyon ug pagkamalungtaron sa ilang mga livelihood projects. Pinaagi sa field monitoring ug site validation activities, siyam (9) ka fisherfolk associations ang na-monitor, nga naglangkob sa lima (5) ka asosasyon gikan sa Cebu Province ug upat (4) gikan sa Bohol Province.

Sa Cebu Province, ang mga na-monitor nga asosasyon mao ang Makugihong Mananagat sa Arbor (MAMSA), Pasol Ninos Fisherfolks Association (PNFA), Montañeza Fisherfolks Association (MOFISA), Suba Fisherfolks Association of Samboan (SUFAS), ug Ponong Seaside Fisherfolks Association (POSFA). Sa Bohol Province, naapil usab sa monitoring ang Nagkahiusang Mananagat sa Bahi, Cagawasan Tilapia Growers Association (CATILGA), Putlongcam Tilapia Growers Association (PUTGA), ug Aloja Tilapia Growers Association.

Pinaagi sa maong field monitoring ug site validation, nasusi ang kasamtangang kahimtang, performance, ug pagdumala sa mga livelihood interventions nga gihatag ubos sa BFAR-7 SAAD Phase II. Gitan-aw usab ang pagpadayon sa operasyon ug produksyon sa mga proyekto aron mailhan ang mga kalampusan, mga hagit, ug mga aspeto nga nanginahanglan og dugang nga teknikal nga tabang o intervention.

Kabahin usab sa kalihokan ang pagpakigpulong sa mga opisyal ug miyembro sa matag asosasyon aron makuha ang ilang mga updates, feedback, ug mga panginahanglan kalabot sa pagpatuman sa ilang livelihood projects. Ang mga resulta ug obserbasyon gikan sa monitoring magsilbing basihan sa paghatag og tukmang rekomendasyon ug technical assistance aron mas mapauswag ang proyekto ug mapalig-on ang pagdumala sa ilang livelihood enterprises.

Ang maong monitoring initiative nagpakita sa padayon nga paningkamot sa BFAR-7 SAAD Phase II sa pagpalig-on sa mga fisherfolk organizations dili lamang pinaagi sa paghatag og livelihood interventions, kondili pinaagi usab sa padayon nga paggiya ug pag-assess sa ilang performance.

Pinaagi sa regular nga monitoring, site validation, ug technical assistance, gilauman nga mas mapalambo sa mga benepisyaryong asosasyon ang ilang mga livelihood projects, mapadayon ang ilang mga negosyo, ug makamugna og mas lig-on ug malungtarong panginabuhian alang sa ilang mga miyembro ug komunidad. # # #

BADIAN, CEBU — The Hinablan Farmers and Fishermen Association (HIFAFISA) of Badian, Cebu has successfully completed its Bangus (Milkfish) culture project, achieving an impressive 96.13 percent survival rate and generating a gross income of ₱359,010 from its harvest.

The production cycle began on March 9, 2026, when HIFAFISA stocked quality Bangus fingerlings sourced from the Cebu Technological University–Moalboal Campus.

Demonstrating its commitment to sustaining the aquaculture enterprise, the association used its own savings to purchase the fingerlings. HIFAFISA recognized that investing in quality stocks is essential to achieving high survival rates and maximizing production.

The association conducted its partial harvest on July 21, 2026, yielding 1,073 kilograms of Bangus, followed by the final harvest on August 24, 2026, which produced an additional 921.5 kilograms. The successful harvest reflects the association’s effective fish culture management, regular monitoring, and commitment to maintaining the project.

The harvested Bangus were marketed through Kadiwa sa Badian, where the association was given an opportunity to showcase and sell its produce at an affordable price of ₱180 per kilogram.

To further expand its market reach, the association also conducted mobile selling activities in strategic areas within the community, including locations near the Badian Municipal Hall and District Hospital, Badian Primary Health Care Facility, Badian National High School, Badian Central Schools, Badian Public Market, and Cebu Technological University–Moalboal Campus.

Through these initiatives, residents, parents, students, teachers, and healthcare workers were provided convenient access to fresh, healthy, and affordable Bangus while helping the association strengthen its local market presence.

The successful harvest and direct marketing activities demonstrate HIFAFISA’s growing capacity to manage a sustainable aquaculture enterprise while contributing to the food needs of the local community. The initiative also shows how organized fisherfolk groups can transform livelihood assistance into a productive and income-generating venture through proper management, commitment, and collective effort.

The Bangus culture project was implemented with support from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) through the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program Phase II, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

With continued technical assistance, responsible project management, and strengthened market linkages, HIFAFISA is poised to sustain and further develop its aquaculture enterprise, contributing to improved livelihood opportunities and local food production in Badian, Cebu. # # #
