In support of the strong advocacy of Mayor Nestor D. Archival for a safer, cleaner, and healthier Cebu City, the Cebu City Women and Family Affairs Commission encouraged all barangays to participate in the Simultaneous Clean-Up Drive, with the GAD Federation and VAWC Desk Officers mobilizing and gathering the different sectors in their respective communities.

This activity promotes environmental sanitation, proper waste management, flood prevention, and community cooperation in building a better and more sustainable community for every Cebuano.

We sincerely thank all volunteers, barangay officials, women sector, ERPAT members, youth sectors, and community partners for their active support and participation in making this activity successful. Together, we continue working towards a cleaner and safer Cebu City.

Finally, we have successfully concluded the GeRL Assessment Tool Capacity Development Training!

Over the past four days, we had the priviledge of capacitating all 80 barangays of Cebu City through four batches of dedicated Barangay GAD Focals and Local Chief Executives. This milestone reflects our inclusive, and people-centered communities.

We look forward to seeing all 80 barangays apply the knowledge, skills, and best practices gained from this training in strengthening local governance and ensuring that programs, projects, and services are responsive to the needs of every sector. Through your dedication, active participation, and continued advocacy for gender equality and women empowerment, we are one step closer to creating safer, fairer, and more equitable communities for all.

Our heartfelt gratitude to all participants, partner offices, and facilitators whose support and commitment made this activity a success. Special thanks to the resource speakers, facilitators and the technical working group for sharing their expertise, patience, and passion throughout the four-day training journey.

Together, let us continue championing gender-responsive governance and meaningful public service.

As of today, April 19, 2026, our air quality has reached “Very Unhealthy” levels (AQI 199). The ongoing haze is caused by stagnant air, heat, and pollutants gikan sa sakyanan ug ubang sources. This is now a risk for everyone, especially children, seniors, ug katong naay sakit sa baga.

Ang Cebu City Government is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with concerned agencies to keep everyone informed and protected.

Palihug ko ninyo: stay indoors if possible, avoid outdoor activities, ug kung mogawas, magsul-ob gyud ug N95 or KN95 mask.

Magtinabangay ta ug mag-amping. Taking care and taking action para sa Cebu City. Stay safe, Cebu City.

Closet-to-Cash: Turning Everyday Items into Opportunities

Mayor Nestor Archival officially opens today the Closet-to-Cash program.

Spearheaded by the Office of the Women and Family Affairs Commission, the program, Closet-to-Cash, is designed to provide women’s group in the Barangay with a practical and accessible livelihood opportunity, especially for those who may not have the financial means to start a small business that requires capital.

It is open weekly from Thursday to Sunday, showcasing women’s products and pre-loved items, with two barangays scheduled to display each week. This weekly activity opens today, in partnership with the Barangay GAD Focal Federation.
