We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our honorable Mayor, Hon. Solomon G. Vicencio and Vice Mayor, Hon. Galahad O. Vicencio for your continued support and for providing us the opportunity to conduct the Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CBDRRM) training for the MDRRMO staff.

The knowledge and skills we gained from this training are of great value in strengthening our capacity for disaster preparedness and response. Today, the Municipality of Catubig solemnly commemorates the 126th anniversary of the Battle of Catubig, a defining moment in our history that exemplifies the courage, resolve, and patriotism of Catubignons in the face of foreign forces.

The Battle of Catubig, fought in April 15-18, 1900 during the Philippine-American War, stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit of Filipinos who defended their homeland and asserted their right to self-determination. Despite limited resources and overwhelming odds, the Catubignon fighters demonstrated remarkable bravery and strategic resolve, marking a hard-fought victory that contributed to the broader struggle for Philippine nationhood.

As we mark this historic occasion, the Local Government Unit of Catubig calls on all Catubignons to reflect on the sacrifices of our forefathers and to uphold the values of unity, courage, and love of country that they so valiantly embodied. Their heroism lives on as a guiding legacy that continues to inspire us in building a stronger and more progressive municipality.

Through this, we reaffirm our shared commitment to preserve our history and to carry forward the enduring legacy of the Battle of Catubig—steadfast, united, and ever committed in the pursuit of a better future.

Ang Local Government Unit of Catubig ay kaisa ng buong bansa sa paggunita ng 84th Araw ng Kagitingan ngayong Araw, Abril 9, na may temang Giting ng Bayani, Pamana sa Salinlahi.

Sa ating pag-alala sa kagitingan ng ating mga bayani, kinikilala natin na ang kanilang “giting” ay hindi lamang parte ng kasaysayan kundi isang buhay na pamana na ipinagkatiwala sa kasalukuyang henerasyon. Hinihikayat nito ang bawat Pilipino na isabuhay ang katapangan, pagkakaisa, at pagmamahal sa bayan sa pang-araw-araw na buhay—sa paglilingkod sa pamahalaan, pakikilahok sa komunidad, at sa mga simpleng gawa ng pagtutulungan at malasakit sa kapwa.

Sa paggunita ng araw na ito, patuloy nating pahalagahan ang kagitingan at sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani, kung saan ang kanilang halimbawa ay patuloy na humuhubog sa atin sa kasalukuyan.
