Step into history and witness the stories that once guarded our seas.

The Fortresses and Frontiers: Student Heritage Documentation and Interpretation Challenge exhibit is now open at Balay Samarnon (Old PNB Building) until May 30, 2026 in celebration of National Heritage Month.

Featuring student outputs and interpretations inspired by the Sentinels of the Samar Seas initiative, the exhibit highlights Samar’s rich maritime and cultural heritage through research, storytelling, and creative documentation.

This initiative is made possible through the partnership of the Province of Samar with the US Embassy, University of Santo Tomas – Center for Conservation of Cultural Property and Environment in the Tropics (UST-CCCPET), Samar State University (SSU), and Northwest Samar State University (NWSSU).

Come visit, explore, and rediscover the fortresses, frontiers, and forgotten stories of Samar.
