8th Signal Battalion Conducts Quarterly Socials in Celebration of 38th Unit Anniversary

CAMP VICENTE LUKBAN, Catbalogan City, Samar – The 8th Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, conducted its Quarterly Socials as part of its unit anniversary celebration, providing an opportunity for personnel to strengthen camaraderie, recognize accomplishments, and foster unity.

The simple program commenced with an Audio-Visual Presentation (AVP) showcasing the unit’s significant activities and accomplishments for the month, highlighting the collective efforts of its personnel in fulfilling the unit’s mission and supporting the 8th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.

This was followed by the recognition of the Top Three finishers of the Strava Challenge, who received certificates for their dedication and perseverance in maintaining physical fitness. The recognition culminated with the presentation of the Iron Man Award to the participant who demonstrated exceptional endurance and outstanding performance throughout the challenge. The program also included the presentation of Letters of Commendation to personnel who contributed to the successful conduct of activities during the month-long celebration of the 8th Infantry Division’s 38th Founding Anniversary.
The August birthday celebrators were then featured through a dedicated birthday AVP showcasing their edited photographs, followed by the traditional blowing of the birthday cake.

The program concluded with the message of the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Romeo M. Pazziuagan SC (GSC) PA, who expressed his appreciation for the personnel’s dedication and teamwork and encouraged everyone to sustain the spirit of camaraderie, professionalism, and excellence.

The Quarterly Socials highlighted the importance of recognizing achievements and strengthening fellowship among personnel, contributing to a more cohesive and motivated organization.

8th Signal Battalion Opens Certified Cloud Security Engineer Training to Strengthen Cybersecurity Capabilities

CAMP VICENTE LUKBAN, Catbalogan City, Samar – The 8th Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army formally inaugurated the Certified Cloud Security Engineer (CCSE) Training during an opening ceremony held at the Headquarters, 8th Signal Battalion, Camp Vicente Lukban, Catbalogan City, Samar. The initiative reflects the Battalion's continuing commitment to enhancing the cybersecurity capabilities of its personnel in support of the communications and information systems of the 8th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.

The opening ceremony gathered participating personnel who will undergo the Certified Cloud Security Engineer (CCSE) Training through a virtual learning platform. The program is intended to enhance the participants' knowledge and competencies in cloud security while fostering greater awareness of cybersecurity best practices in today's evolving digital environment. Through this professional development initiative, the Battalion continues to invest in building a capable and adaptive workforce prepared to address emerging challenges in cyberspace and strengthen the security of its communications and information systems.

In his message, Lt. Col. Romeo M. Pazziuagan SC (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 8th Signal Battalion, emphasized that continuous professional development is essential in keeping pace with the rapidly evolving cyber landscape. 8th Signal Battalion Joins Simultaneous Flag-Raising Ceremony for the 77th International Humanitarian Law Commemoration

CAMP VICENTE LUKBAN, Catbalogan City, Samar – The 8th Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, under the leadership of Lt. Col. Romeo M. Pazziuagan SC (GSC) PA, participated in the simultaneous flag-raising ceremony in observance of the 77th International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Commemoration with the theme, “Pinalakas na Ugnayan at Pagkakaisa sa Pagsulong ng IHL.”

The activity featured the simultaneous flag-raising ceremony and the renewal of the Oath of Allegiance to International Humanitarian Law, reaffirming the commitment of officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources personnel to uphold the principles of humanity, protect the rights of civilians and other protected persons, and faithfully observe the laws and customs of armed conflict in the performance of their duties.

Aligned with this year's theme, the observance emphasized the importance of strengthening unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility in advancing awareness of and compliance with International Humanitarian Law. The 8th Signal Battalion remains steadfast in promoting professionalism, discipline, respect for human dignity, and adherence to the rule of law in support of the Philippine Army's mission.

Strengthening Faith and Unity: 8th Signal Battalion Successfully Fulfills Mass Sponsorship During Sunday Eucharistic Celebration

CAMP VICENTE LUKBAN, Catbalogan City, Samar – The 8th Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, successfully fulfilled its Mass Sponsorship during the regular Sunday Eucharistic Celebration held on 26 July 2026 at Sto. Niño Chapel, Camp General Vicente Lukban, Catbalogan City, Samar. The sponsorship was undertaken in partnership with fellow co-sponsor offices within the camp, including the Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO), symbolizing unity, cooperation, and shared faith among the participating organizations.

Personnel of the Battalion, together with their families and representatives from the co-sponsor offices, participated in the Eucharistic Celebration to offer prayers of thanksgiving and seek God's continued guidance, protection, and blessings. The activity also strengthened camaraderie and reinforced the importance of spiritual resilience in military service.

“Honoring Dedicated Service: 8th Signal Battalion Recognizes Reassigned Personnel”

CAMP VICENTE LUKBAN, Catbalogan City, Samar – On 21 July 2026, the 8th Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, held a modest recognition ceremony to honor a soldier who will be reassigned to another unit. The activity served as a tribute to his years of faithful service, dedication, and significant contributions to the battalion.

The ceremony acknowledged the honoree's commitment to the battalion's mission of delivering dependable Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems (C4S) support to the 8th Infantry (Stormtrooper) Division and its subordinate units. Throughout his assignment, he consistently demonstrated professionalism, discipline, and commitment, helping the unit accomplish its mission effectively.

As a token of appreciation, Corporal James N. Samporna was presented with a Certificate of Recognition and a Letter of Commendation in recognition of his exemplary performance and faithful service rendered to the battalion.

In his message, Lieutenant Colonel Romeo M. 8th Signal Battalion Provides Communications Support for 8ID Anniversary Fun Run 2026

CAMP VICENTE LUKBAN, Catbalogan City, Samar – The 8th Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, under the leadership of Lt. Col. Romeo M. Pazziuagan SC (GSC) PA, provided communications support for the 8th Infantry (Stormtroopers) Division Fun Run 2026, held in celebration of the Division's 38th Founding Anniversary on 19 July 2026 at Camp General Vicente Lukban, Catbalogan City, Samar.

Personnel of this unit provided communications support, ensuring uninterrupted radio connectivity among the event organizers, marshals, security forces, medical responders, and other support elements. This enabled efficient coordination throughout the activity and contributed to the orderly, safe, and successful conduct of the event.

Following the successful completion of the fun run, the 8th Signal Battalion also provided Audio-Visual System (AVS) support for the Zumba session, ensuring high-quality sound and seamless audiovisual operations that enhanced participant engagement and contributed to the smooth conduct of the fitness activity.

Held as part of the celebration of the 38th Founding Anniversary of the 8th Infantry (Stormtroopers) Division, the event brought together military personnel, representatives from partner government agencies, local stakeholders, and members of the running community in a shared pursuit of physical fitness, camaraderie, unity, and teamwork.

Lt. Col. The ceremony highlighted the significant role of the departing personnel in supporting the battalion's mission of providing reliable Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems (C4S) support to the 8th Infantry (Stormtrooper) Division and its subordinate units. Through their professionalism, discipline, and commitment to duty, they contributed to the successful accomplishment of the battalion's mission.
One Officer and two Enlisted Personnel—received Certificates of Recognition and Letters of Commendation in appreciation of their faithful and exemplary service to the unit.
