BRIDGING LEADERSHIP & PROGRESS: Silanga National High School was honored to host a joint delegation of top-tier educational leaders and monitoring teams for a high-level site visit and technical assistance activity aimed at driving academic excellence and institutional efficiency.

We were deeply privileged to welcome our Department of Education Region VIII Regional Director, Dr. Salustiano T. Jimenez, alongside Assistant Regional Director, Dr. Marilyn B. Siao, CESO IV. Their presence underscores the Regional Office’s unwavering commitment to ground-level leadership, continuous support, and quality education across our schools.

Adding immense value to this engagement was the Lakbay Aral Monitoring Team from the Schools Division of Biliran, led by their esteemed Schools Division Superintendent, Mr. Roberto N. Mangaliman. Their visit brought invaluable insights, collaborative dialogue, and strategic Technical Assistance (TA) to help elevate our administrative and pedagogical standards.

During the comprehensive review and facility walk-through, key institutional areas were discussed, including:

• Student Welfare, Issues, and Concerns — Reinforcing support systems, academic intervention strategies, and learner-centered programs.

• Enrollment Trends and Profiling — Reviewing student demographics, intake metrics, and retention strategies.

• School Offices and Operations — Evaluating administrative functions, record management, and operational efficiency across school units.

The entire administrative staff, faculty, and student body of Silanga National High School express our deepest gratitude to RD Jimenez, ARD Siao, SDS Mangaliman, and the Biliran Lakbay Aral Team. 🗓 February 20, 2026 | ⏰ 8:00 AM

Silanga National High School successfully conducted the Barkada Kontra Droga Symposium on February 20, 2026, at 8:00 AM at the school covered court. The activity aimed to strengthen students’ awareness about the dangers of illegal drugs and to promote safe and respectful spaces within the school community.

The program formally opened with the Philippine National Anthem, prayer, and welcome message from BKD Adviser Mrs. Maria Luisa C. Versoza. Although our School Principal II, Mr. Alicio C. Jamin, was unable to attend due to an important matter, the activity was closely coordinated and supported through the leadership of our MAPEH Head and MT-I, Mam Ligaya Nofiel, who served as the point person on his behalf.

The highlight of the symposium proper was the insightful and informative talks delivered by our distinguished speakers:
👮‍♂️ PSSg Jeffrey B. Sus – Talk on Drug Awareness
👮‍♀️ PSSg Grace A. Bundac – Talk on the Safe Spaces Act

Their discussions empowered our students with knowledge, awareness, and the courage to stand firm against illegal drugs while fostering a culture of respect and safety in school.

The activity also featured intermission numbers from selected students, a heartfelt Pledge of Commitment, awarding of Certificates of Appreciation to our resource speakers, a closing message, and an open forum where students were able to actively participate and ask questions.

This meaningful event would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of our faculty, BKD officers, student leaders, and guests.

Together, let us continue to build a drug-free, safe, and empowered Silanga NHS community. 💙✨
