PRESS RELEASE: Catbalogan Police Arrests Suspect in Shooting Incident in the City Catbalogan City, Samar.

On April 29, 2024, at about 9:30 P.M., personnel from Catbalogan City Police Station, under the supervision of PLTCOL DARYLL CHUA, COP, responded to a reported shooting incident in P-8, Brgy. Mercedes, Catbalogan City that occurred around 9:00 P.M victimizing alias “Luvi” According to reports, the said incident rooted from a heated argument between said victim and alias “Mario”. That when confrontation escalated, suspect alias “Mario” shot the victim hitting the upper left chest of the latter. Upon receipt of the report, officers led by PSMS Diory S. Uy swiftly responded and proceeded to Samar Provincial Hospital, where they confirmed the victim's condition. The suspect was promptly apprehended during a hot pursuit operation, captured on a PNP-issued Body Worn Camera in accordance with Supreme Court MC No. 21-06-08-SC. During said hot pursuit operation, recovered from the possession of Alias “Mario” was a .45 caliber pistol marked "STI Exucutive" with Serial No. 773229, loaded with three live rounds of ammunition. Both the suspect and the weapon have been secured by Catbalogan City Police Station for further legal action. "We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community," PLTCOL CHUA stated. "Our swift response and apprehension of the suspect demonstrate our dedication to upholding law and order in Catbalogan.
