𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐌 𝐇𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐍𝐃. 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄’𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐓.

The Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Barangay UEP Zone 3, Catarman, Northern Samar stands firmly and unequivocally opposed to the proposed further postponement of the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.

We believe that democracy must not be placed on hold. Elections are not merely dates on a calendar—they are the people’s constitutional exercise of their right to choose who will represent them.

The youth deserve a government that is accountable, representative, and renewed through the ballot. No position is permanent. No mandate should be extended indefinitely. Public office is a trust, not a privilege to be prolonged.

We therefore call for the continued conduct of the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections as scheduled on November 2, 2026.

Let the people decide. Let the youth decide.

DEFEND THE BALLOT. DEFEND THE MANDATE. DEFEND DEMOCRACY.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟮 | 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦-𝗢𝗡 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚: 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗦 𝗔 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟

After the morning talks, the afternoon shifted from learning to doing through a hands-on session on food preparation as a livelihood skill.

As part of the activity, the youth learned how to prepare cupcakes made from Talyan (Alocasia macrorrhizos (L.) G. Don) and Bagong (Amorphophallus sp.), giving them an opportunity to explore how locally available ingredients can be used in creating an alternative food product.

More than just preparing cupcakes, the activity encouraged the youth to learn a new skill, explore local resources, and appreciate the possibilities within their own community.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟮 | 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗗 & 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

In its 3rd year of partnership with the College of Business Administration, Day 2 focused on livelihood, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment.

The morning sessions covered the essentials of creating and strengthening an association, from understanding organizational structure, to drafting a Constitution and By-Laws, and developing a business plan that can turn ideas into viable enterprises. The session also featured DOLE Northern Samar, which shared valuable information on livelihood programs, employment opportunities, and available support for young people and communities toward sustainable livelihood.

In the afternoon, the session continued with financial planning for livelihood projects, reminding us that building an enterprise is not only about having a good idea, but also knowing how to manage resources and make every peso count.

A heartfelt thank you to the College of Business Administration and its dedicated professors for once again sharing their time, expertise, and knowledge with the youth. Your continued partnership helps create meaningful learning opportunities and equips young people with practical skills for the future.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭 | 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦

After the morning’s Voters’ Education Seminar, Day 1 continued with beach activities, games, and moments of getting to know one another. It was a chance for the youth to step out of their usual circles, make new connections, and simply enjoy being together.

We ended the day with 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, where everyone had the chance to share their experiences, stories, and thoughts in a space where they could simply be heard.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭 | 𝗔𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘆𝗮𝗽 𝗞𝗼 𝗻𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼

Day 1 started with a meaningful and eye-opening Voters’ Education Seminar through “𝗔𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘆𝗮𝗽 𝗞𝗼 𝗻𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼,” led by Tindog Kabataan.

The session gave our youth a chance to look beyond personalities and promises, understand their role as voters, and reflect on the kind of leaders they want to see and support. Hindi natin kailangang sambahin o purihin ang ating mga lider. We should demand good governance, genuine service, transparency, and accountability.

Maraming salamat, 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻, for empowering our youth with the knowledge and courage to become more critical, informed, and responsible voters.
