PEO INITIATES MANPOWER CAPABILITY-BUILDING ACTIVITY
Aimed at enhancing the capability and competencies of its manpower pool, the PGNS PROVINCIAL ENGINEERING OFFICE (PEO) conducted a five (5) day TECHNICAL TRAINING ON INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS MANAGEMENT & IMPLEMENTATION.
Held last November 4-8, 2024 at the Sumuroy Hall of the Provincial Capitol, the activity was spearheaded by the PEO top management led by OIC Provincial Engineer Noel T. Berbon, OIC Assistant Provincial Engineer Gillenny H. Moreno with the full and dynamic support of former DPWH RO8 ARD Engr. David P. Adongay, Jr., current PGNS-PEO Consultant.
The weeklong training seminar was attended by all the technical personnel of the PEO including the chiefs of Divisions namely Engr. Joel C. Escareal II of the Planning, Designing & Programming Division; Engr. Jennifer M. Evangelista of the Construction & Maintenance Division, Engr. Dario Resty P. Gomba of the Motor pool Division and Engr. Al F. Notarte of the Materials & Quality Control Division. Resource speakers on the different topics discussed came from the DPWH Northern Samar 2nd District Engineering.
Specific focus in the training are the following knowledge and skills required in handling civil work projects as infra projects implementers of the Provincial Engineering Office: Upgrading competencies in handling and managing infrastructure projects assigned to them as Project Engineers;
• Acquired sufficient knowledge and skills in utilizing the D**A in the preparation of Plans and Program of Works of civil works projects;
• Actively responding to changes in organizational restructuring work processes to facilitate career development;
• Achieved new and improved methodologies/techniques in infrastructure projects management;
• Able to examine products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications;
• Able to identify and correct any defects or problems in materials quality control management of civil works projects.
