Sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kagitingan, patuloy nating bigyang-pugay ang mga kababaihang Pilipino na buong tapang na lumaban para sa ating kalayaan at katarungan.

Ang kanilang giting ang nagsilbing tulay tungo sa mas pantay at malayang bukas — para sa kababaihan, para sa bayan.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐫𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Provincial Government of Northern Samar through the Provincial Gender and Development (PGAD) office joined the Local Government Unit of San Isidro, Northern Samar to celebrate National Women’s Month held on March 24, 2026, at the Barangay Balite Covered Court.

In line with this year’s sub-theme, “Lead like Babaylans, Filipinas,” honored the enduring resilience, sacrifices, and inherent strength of women and girls. The celebration highlighted the importance of empowering female leadership and breaking barriers to a more inclusive and just society.

The program was officially commenced with an inspiring message from Hon. Vice Mayor Ferdinand C. Avila, followed by message of support from Hon. Mayor Conrado G. Avila. Emphasizing the vital role of women in the community and reaffirmed the local government's commitment to gender equality and empowerment.

Ms. Maria Teresita R. Gacusan, Chairperson of the PGAD FPS Technical Working Group, served as the guest speaker, delivered an inspirational message addressing the multifaceted roles women play in community and called for recognition on the sacrifices and unwavering dedications of women. She emphasized that Women’s Month is not only exclusive to women rather she warmly encouraged men to take an active part in this momentous celebration. She clarified that the event’s purpose is not to demoralize men or claim superiority, but rather to serve as an awakening to true equality. By understanding the challenges women face, men become vital partners in building a balanced and respectful community.

Inspired from the African philosophy of "Ubuntu"—I am because we are—she reminded the audience that our strength lies in our togetherness. As a community, regardless of gender- we have the power to build a balanced society where everyone is valued, seen, and heard.

Women’s month celebration serves as reminder that empowerment begins with a deep appreciation for the leadership and contributions of women. By honoring their strength and vision, we promote an environment where progress and equality thrive for all.
