TODAY--May 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Negosyo Center Victoria, successfully conducted a Technology Transfer Training on Banana Vinegar Production with Product Costing and Pricing at Barangay Erenas, Victoria, Northern Samar. The activity aimed to promote the proper utilization of locally available raw materials, particularly bananas, and to provide the community with an additional source of income and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The training was actively participated in by members and interested individuals from the Erenas Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (ARBโs). Participants were given hands-on knowledge and practical skills on the process of banana vinegar production, including proper preparation, fermentation, sanitation, packaging, costing, and pricing of the product. The training also highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship, product quality, and value-adding activities that can help improve the economic condition of the community.
The resource speaker and trainer, Mrs. Alma Maximo, together with the ARBO President, shared their expertise and experiences to guide the participants throughout the activity. Their discussions encouraged the participants to maximize local resources and explore small business opportunities through food processing and product development.
Also present during the training were representatives from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)Judith Manlalangit and NCTSS Chariel Robedillo, who showed their support for the program and its objective of empowering local communities through livelihood and skills development initiatives.
