The 16th Special Forces Company successfully conducted the Community Action for Resiliency and Emergency Support (CARES) Training on March 28–29, 2026, in the barangays of San Ramon, Santa Cruz, and Bangate, Barcelona, Sorsogon. The activity aimed to enhance community preparedness and strengthen the capability of residents in responding effectively to emergencies, disasters, and crisis situations.
In conjunction with the training, a West Philippine Sea Awareness Campaign was also conducted to educate participants on the importance of protecting the country’s sovereignty and maritime resources. Through engaging discussions and interactive question-and-answer sessions, participants actively shared their insights and gained a deeper understanding of their role as responsible citizens in supporting national security and resilience.
The activity was attended by barangay officials, barangay tanods, barangay health workers (BHWs), youth, and community members, who were equipped with essential knowledge in disaster response, first aid, and coordination. Additionally, the 16th Special Forces Company introduced opportunities to serve in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), inspiring individuals to take part in nation-building and community defense.
