ADVISORY | WORK SUSPENSION

In line with Proclamation No. 1264 declaring Wednesday, May 27, 2026, a Regular Holiday nationwide in observance of Eid’l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice), work at the Land Transportation Office Region V and all its District Offices shall be suspended on the said date.

Regular office operations and transactions will resume on the next working day.

In the Philippines, the wearing of helmets is governed by Republic Act No. 10054, also known as the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.

Key Provisions of RA 10054:

Mandatory Use: All motorcycle riders (both the driver and back rider) are required to wear standard protective helmets at all times while driving.Road

Coverage: This applies to any and all roads, highways, and thoroughfares in the country, regardless of the length of the drive.

Approved Helmets: Helmets must comply with the specifications set by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and must bear the Philippine Standard (PS) mark or the Import Clearance Certificate (ICC) sticker.

Exemption: Drivers of tricycles are exempt from this mandate.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The LTO Cataingan District Office successfully conducted a 3-day outreach "Balik Rehistro Program" in collaboration with Congressman Wilton "Tonton" T. Kho , Liga ng mga Barangay headed by LnB President Conrad "Bobit" Merdegia, Lgu-Uson and Vice Mayor Arnel Quidato .

The activity offered services such as motor vehicle inspection, renewal registration, distribution of motorcycle plate backlogs and a 2 day-TDC seminar.

This is guided by the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and aligned with the policy directions of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Atty. Giovanni Z. Lopez and LTO Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao, and further strengthened by the leadership of LTO Regional Director Allan Castillejos and Assistant Regional Director Vincent Nato.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Cataingan personnel actively supported the DSWD in the distribution of Cash Relief Assistance for TODA drivers in the 3rd district of Masbate. LTO played a key role in the verification of the drivers license ensuring that the cash assistance reaches the rightful beneficiaries.
