“Supporting Community Relations and Clean - up Drive at Saint John The Baptist Parish, Castilla, Sorsogon”

On 25 March 2026, personnel of BRP SIMEON CASTRO (PC374) participated in a clean-up drive activity at Saint John The Baptist Parish, Castilla, Sorsogon, as part of the unit’s continuing Civil Military Operations (CMO) initiatives aimed at strengthening partnerships with the local community and supporting community development programs.

Personnel of this unit carried out the clearing of scattered debris, including fallen tree branches and waste materials, as well as sweeping and cleaning of walkways, parish grounds, and common areas. Proper collection, segregation, and disposal of garbage were also undertaken in close coordination with the parish administration. This activity was conducted in preparation for the upcoming Holy Week observance.

These efforts not only improved the overall physical condition of Saint John The Baptist Parish but also contributed to creating a more welcoming and conducive environment for worship. Moreover, the activity fostered stronger cooperation, mutual trust, and a shared commitment to sustained community engagement between the unit and the parish.

“Community Advancement and Clean-Up Drive at Castilla National High School”

On 13 and 20 February 2026, personnel of BRP SIMEON CASTRO (PC374) conducted Community Advancement Activities at Castilla National High School, Castilla, Sorsogon, as part of the unit’s continuing Civil Military Operations (CMO) initiatives aimed at strengthening partnership with the local community and supporting community development programs.

The activity primarily involved the conduct of a clean-up drive within the school premises and its immediate surroundings, wherein participating personnel undertook the clearing of scattered garbage, sweeping and cleaning of walkways, school grounds, and common areas, as well as the proper collection, segregation, and disposal of waste materials in coordination with the school administration. In addition, personnel also conducted repainting of several benches located within the school grounds to help improve the overall appearance, cleanliness, and usability of the facilities for the benefit of students and faculty members.

These efforts not only enhanced the physical condition of Castilla National High School but also contributed to a more welcoming and conducive learning environment. More importantly, the activity fostered stronger cooperation, mutual trust, and a shared commitment to sustained community engagement between the unit and the school.

🩸 BLOOD LETTING ACTIVITY 🩸

On this day, personnel of BRP Simeon Castro (PC374) participated in a Blood Letting Activity at Brgy. Poblacion, Castilla, Sorsogon in support of community health and humanitarian service.

The activity was made possible through the cooperation of local partners and volunteers who generously participated in the blood donation drive to help save lives.

This initiative demonstrates the commitment of the personnel of BRP Simeon Castro (PC374) not only in safeguarding the maritime domain but also in extending meaningful service to the community.

The unit expresses its sincere appreciation to all individuals and partners who supported and participated in this activity. Their willingness to donate blood contributes significantly to saving lives and strengthening community welfare.

The 2nd Infantry Division successfully conducted the Year End CY2025 Campaign Progress Review and Assessment (CPRA) aboard Camp General Mateo Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal. The activity brought together key personnel to evaluate accomplishments, address operational challenges, and refine strategies to further strengthen mission performance for the coming year.

As part of the program, the Division also took the opportunity to present a Plaque of Recognition to Naval Task Group 31.1 in appreciation of their unwavering support and notable contributions to joint operations. The plaque was received on behalf of the task group by LCDR RHEMWAY J. LARGO PN, Commanding Officer, PC374, serving as the official representative of Naval Task Group 31.1.

BRP SIMEON CASTRO (PC374) accommodated fifteen (15) students from the Littoral Combat Training Squadron (LCTS) as part of their Familiarization Training on Detroit Engine Operations and Maintenance.

The activity aimed to enhance the students’ technical competence through practical exposure to the ship’s propulsion systems, fostering a deeper understanding of engineering operations in an actual maritime environment. This initiative forms part of the Littoral Combat Force’s ongoing efforts to cultivate professional excellence and operational readiness among future fleet personnel.
