Founded in July 2023 by Dell, a foodie and former food blogger, the business was born from a gap in the market. While exploring food parks across the Davao Region, she and her sister noticed a lack of authentic fruit drinks; most options relied on powders rather than real ingredients. This sparked the idea to create high-quality beverages using fresh lemons blended with real fruits like lychee, blueberry, and strawberry.
For Dell, choosing the beverage industry was a strategic move toward sustainability. Having previously sold items like socks and phone cases, which customers only replace when broken, she recognized that drinks are a recurring, regular need. Beyond the product itself, she marketed a value proposition of connection, aiming to bring friends and family closer together through her refreshments.
However, the path to growth was far from easy. Starting without a mentor, Dell had to bridge the gap between her accounting background and the practical, high-stakes reality of running a business. Her most persistent hurdle was manpower; as a startup unable to afford minimum wage, she relied on "on-call" crews and the unwavering support of her family to stay afloat. Logistics also required grit, moving from commuting and renting vehicles to eventually borrowing a family car to transport goods.
A turning point came through the DTI Kapatid Mentor Me - Money Market Encounter (KMME-MME) Program. The insights from professional mentors proved invaluable, and the networking opportunities allowed Dell to build a community of entrepreneurial friends. With the assistance of DTI-Davao del Norte and the Negosyo Center Carmen, she also successfully registered her trademark, securing her intellectual property rights.
Today, Dell measures her success by her ability to provide for others, currently employing four on-call crew members and operating at multiple locations simultaneously. Looking ahead, she dreams of transitioning from pop-up bazaars to a permanent cafรฉ-style space with an expanded menu. Her advice to those starting out is a blend of faith and preparation: lean on spiritual guidance during tough times and conduct thorough research to save precious energy and resources.
