Empowering Persons with Disabilities through an Orientation on Philippine Registry of Persons With Disability Online System. The Department of Health has successfully capacitated 30 new system encoders from various Municipal PDAO all over Eastern Visayas using the Philippine Registry for Persons with Disabilities Users Manual Version 4.0 The said orientation was conducted on March 23-24, 2023 at Hotel Costa Brava, Tacloban City.
The PRPWD is an online application system intended for registration of persons with disabilities and the issuance of unique identifcation numbers for discounts and benefits. It also supports the Republic Act Nos. 7277 & 9442 also known as the “ Magna Carta for Disabled Persons”.Likewise, the system aims to facilitate coordination and networking among stakeholders in the issuance of benefits for PWDs; improve efficiency and effectiveness of the work flow processes from registration to service delivery, and facilitate integration and sharing of data which is very essential in the program planning at the national level.
The 2-day orientation activity was headed by Ms. Laura C. Pajares, Program Manager for Health & Wellness Program for PWDs of Non Communicable Disease Unit, Ms. Elma Bernadette Lego, ICTU Head and was graced by DSWD Region 8 PDAO Focal for PWDs Ms Mavis Mae C. Baoy.
