Celebrating Transformation: 2nd Commencement and Recognition Exercises of PDL-Learners at Carcar City Jail

On April 9, 2026, Carcar City Jail successfully conducted the face-to-face 2nd Commencement and Recognition Exercises for its Senior High School Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) learners at the facility’s covered court. A total of twenty-one (21) PDL learners, composed of eighteen (18) male and three (3) female graduates, were recognized for their academic achievements.
The momentous event was graced by fourteen (14) personnel from EEGAFI, led by School President Dr. Francisca T. Uy, alongside Dr. Felina S. Calledo, Regional Supervisor of DepEd Region VII, and Dr. Roger M. Bajo, Education Program Supervisor. Carcar City Jail personnel also participated the event, headed by Jail Warden, 𝙅𝙎𝙐𝙋𝙏 𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙆 𝘼𝙉𝙏𝙃𝙊𝙉𝙔 𝙋 𝙊𝙈𝙀𝙂𝘼, 𝘿𝙋𝘼, ensuring the smooth and secure conduct of the activity.
The endeavor included recognition rites and graduation ceremonies conducted under the close supervision of the duty personnel. The activity not only celebrated academic milestones but also reinforced the importance of education in empowering PDL toward personal growth, reintegration, and becoming productive members of society.

Carcar City Jail promotes PDL wellness through a Pampering Activity

𝙇𝙊𝙊𝙆: On April 8, 2026, nine (9) members of the GLAM Team from the Local Government Unit (LGU) - Carcar City, headed by Ms. Lyka Wamar, conducted a pampering activity for the sixteen (16) female Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at Carcar City Jail Covered Court. The activity was supervised by four (4) personnel headed by JO2 Ana Marie P Oga-ob, Chief of the Development Unit, ensuring its smooth and orderly implementation.

The initiative aimed to promote self-care, boost morale, and support the overall well-being of both personnel and PDL.
Various services were provided, including haircuts, hair treatments, manicures, pedicures, and massages. The activity not only enhanced personal grooming but also contributed to the emotional and psychological well-being of the participants, reinforcing the commitment to holistic rehabilitation and humane treatment within the facility.

Look: Values Restoration Program (VRP) was held during the Personnel Information and Education (PI&E) of the Carcar City Jail under the leadership of 𝐉𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐘 𝐏 𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐆𝐀, 𝐃𝐏𝐀, Jail Warden. JO1 Roed D Aporado, Custodial Officer, talked on the value-focus, "Dignity."

The VRP aims to instill integrity, discipline, and moral responsibility among BJMP personnel. It promotes ethical behavior, strengthens character, and fosters a culture of service founded on the BJMP Core Values: Makatao, Matino, at Matatag.

𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙖𝙧 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙅𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙨 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙨 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮

𝓛𝓞𝓞𝓚: Twenty-three (23) personnel of Carcar City Jail headed by Jail Warden, 𝙅𝙎𝙐𝙋𝙏 𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙆 𝘼𝙉𝙏𝙃𝙊𝙉𝙔 𝙋 𝙊𝙈𝙀𝙂𝘼, 𝘿𝙋𝘼, participated in the Fi****ms Proficiency Training held at the Carcar City Firing Range, Pob. III, Carcar City, Cebu. The activity aimed to refresh and ensure that personnel are capable of handling and using fi****ms safely, responsibly, and effectively in the performance of their duties.

The training commenced with a discussion on Gun Safety Rules facilitated by JO3 Raymund S Ceballos, Subject-Matter Expert, a STAR Team member - emphasizing the strict observance of standard safety protocols at all times. This was followed by the actual firing exercises using both pistol and rifle. The activity concluded with a closing ceremony, marking the successful completion of the training.
