SUSPECT ARRESTED, LOOSE FI****MS AND AMMUNITION SEIZED IN MASBATE OPERATION

Legazpi City, August 29, 2026 — A 53-year-old suspect identified by the alias “Mark” is now under police custody following the successful implementation of a search warrant on August 28, 2026, at about 2:00 PM in Barangay Lantangan, Mandaon, Masbate.

The operation was led by joint personnel of the Provincial Intelligence Unit as the lead unit, the Mandaon Municipal Police Station, and the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, all under the Masbate Police Provincial Office. The operation was conducted by virtue of a search warrant issued by the court for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Seized during the operation were one (1) live ammunition for a caliber .45 pistol; one (1) caliber .45 pistol with a defaced serial number, with one (1) live ammunition loaded in its chamber; one (1) seven-round steel magazine for a caliber .45 pistol; two (2) eight-round steel magazines for a caliber .45 pistol; one (1) ten-round steel magazine for a caliber .45 pistol; thirty-eight (38) rounds of live ammunition for a caliber .45 pistol; one (1) black leather holster for a caliber .45 pistol; and one (1) caliber .45 pistol, ARMSCOR M1911, bearing Serial No. 1321612.

The arrested person was duly informed of his constitutional rights and the nature and cause of his arrest in a dialect known to and understood by him. Thereafter, he was brought to the Mandaon MPS, together with the seized pieces of evidence, for proper documentation and disposition. The search was conducted in an orderly and proper manner in the presence of the respondent and the required mandatory witnesses.

Verification conducted with the Regional Civil Security Unit 5 (RCSU5), Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City, revealed that the suspect is not a holder of a valid License to Own and Possess Fi****ms (LTOPF) and is not a duly registered or licensed firearm owner. Records further showed that one (1) caliber .45 pistol, ARMSCOR M1911, had been previously registered under his name, with the registration having expired on October 2, 2015.

SWIFT POLICE RESPONSE LEADS TO ARREST OF ROBBERY SUSPECT, RECOVERY OF STOLEN FIREARM IN CAMARINES SUR

Legazpi City, August 29, 2026 — Demonstrating Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman, the swift response of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office (CSPPO) led to the arrest of one of the suspects involved in a robbery incident that victimized an Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel and resulted in the recovery of his stolen government-issued firearm and other personal belongings.

Upon returning, he placed the bag on top of a sofa near a window before proceeding to his bedroom.

At around 12:30 AM on August 29, 2026, the victim discovered that his sling bag was missing. He also noticed that the window had been forcibly opened, with its glass panel shattered, indicating that an unauthorized entry had taken place.

Immediately upon receipt of the report, personnel of the Investigation and Intelligence/Tracker Team of the Baao MPS proceeded to the reported scene and conducted follow-up investigation and a hot-pursuit operation. The swift police action resulted in the arrest of one of the suspects, identified by the alias “Tope,” and the recovery of the stolen items from his possession and control.

Recovered from the arrested suspect were the victim’s government-issued 9mm G***k 17 pistol with an inserted magazine and three (3) loaded extra magazines, as well as his identification card, ATM cards, and other personal belongings.

Meanwhile, a continuing hot-pursuit operation is being conducted by the Baao MPS against the remaining suspect, who is reportedly the brother and alleged cohort of the arrested individual.

HIGH-VALUE DRUG SUSPECT ARRESTED, OVER PHP1 MILLION WORTH OF SHABU SEIZED IN CAMARINES SUR

Legazpi City, August 29, 2026 — Vowing to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Bicol Region, the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5) continues to intensify its intelligence-driven operations against illegal drug activities, resulting in the arrest of a high-value individual and the seizure of PHP1.02 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Camarines Sur.

At about 9:13 AM on August 29, 2026, joint personnel of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 5 (RPDEU 5), as the lead unit, together with the Bula Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), both of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 5 (PDEG SOU 5), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office V (PDEA ROV), conducted a buy-bust operation at Barangay Pawili, Bula, Camarines Sur.

The operation resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old suspect identified by the alias “Neil,” a resident of Brgy. Poblacion, Alubijid, Misamis Oriental, and was identified as a high-value individual involved in illegal drug activities. Recovered from his possession were 150 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP1,020,000.00.

Prior to the operation, law enforcement personnel conducted a series of intelligence-gathering and surveillance activities to verify the suspect’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities and establish the necessary information for the conduct of the operation. The recovered items were secured and will be turned over to the PECU for appropriate handling, examination, and disposition in accordance with established protocols.
