Strength, discipline, and nationalism in action!

The Education and Training Command, Philippine Army- the Source of Army Standards- successfully concluded the Intermediate Arnis Trainers’ Training at Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac!

The Closing Ceremony was highlighted by Col. Lawrence A. Aninag, Commander of the Training Support Group, ETC, PA, who served as the Keynote Speaker.

During the training, participants received progressive instruction on indigenous Filipino Martial Arts, mastering single- and double-weapon systems, knife defense, footwork, and hand-to-hand combative techniques such as Panuntukan and Sikaran. Through full-contact sparring and practical demo teaching evaluated using standardized rubrics, these soldiers are now certified instructors, ready to cascade uniform martial arts training across all Army units!

As the Philippine Army rebalances toward Territorial Defense Operations (TDO) under the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept (CADC), our land forces must remain highly disciplined, physically lethal, and combat-ready. By preserving and mastering Arnis, the National Martial Art and Sport of the Philippines, our troops build unyielding mental toughness while celebrating our rich Filipino heritage!

Through standardized physical and combative training, ETC continues to drive the Army’s "Source of Army Standards", shaping world-class, multi-mission ready soldiers for ARMY 2040!

𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲, 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐎’𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥, 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐬, 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐜- The 10th Infantry "Agila" Division, in partnership with the Education and Training Command (ETC), Philippine Army, officially launched the Key Leaders’ Enhancement Program (KLEP) for Platoon Leaders at Camp Manuel T. Yan Sr., Mawab, Davao de Oro.

This 5-day intensive, competency-based training intervention, facilitated by Col. Manuel S. Valdez IV, Director of the Center for Leadership Development, TSG, ETC, PA, is designed to sharpen the Core, Leadership, and Technical competencies of young tactical commanders as the Philippine Army continues its strategic rebalancing from Internal Security Operations (ISO) to Territorial Defense Operations (TDO).

Col. Ruben G. Aquino, the Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, 10ID, graced the opening ceremony as Keynote Speaker. The opening session tackled critical aspects of Multi-Domain Awareness, specifically focusing on foreign malign influence and United Front work tactics, equipping tactical leaders to navigate today's complex security landscape.

Forging World-Class Leaders for ARMY 2040. As the Army evens out toward archipelagic defense, our platoon leaders serve as the ultimate foundation at the tactical level. By integrating hard-earned ISO operational experience with modern TDO capabilities, the KLEP ensures that our small-unit leaders remain highly adaptable, lethal, and mission-ready.

This initiative reinforces the Philippine Army’s "Chain of Excellence", ensuring that every officer on the front line embodies the standards of a world-class, cross-domain capable force ready to safeguard our land and national sovereignty!

𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐎’𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥, 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐬, 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐜 — The Education and Training Command (ETC), Philippine Army, continues to strengthen its education and training initiatives as the Philippine Army strategically balances its focus toward Territorial Defense Operations (TDO) in response to the country’s evolving security environment.

In line with this effort, Brig. Gen. Lennon G. Babilonia, Acting Commander, ETC, conducted a series of key visits to the Education and Training Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines (ETC, AFP) at Camp Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City, as well and the Civil-Military Operations Regiment (CMOR) at Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City. These visits aimed to forge vital inter-unit collaborations and ensure that the development of Army personnel is deeply integrated across different critical capability areas to successfully meet the complex demands of territorial defense.

Throughout these high-level engagements, BGen Babilonia emphasized the synchronization of the ETC’s command priorities with the Army's broader strategic vision, highlighting the core mission to strengthen "One Army, One Training System" and implement the unified "One Exercise Concept" under a single, rigorous Army standard. The discussions focused on preparing the force for multi-domain territorial defense while laying down the groundwork for the long-term ETC Capability Development Plan.

Paramount to this transformation is the acceleration of digital transformation, which leverages advanced simulation platforms and wargaming technologies to transition training methodologies toward modern, cross-domain combat. Furthermore, the engagements underscored the command’s dedication to nurturing human capital by strengthening progressive leader and instructor development, continuously upgrading learning and living infrastructure, and expanding strategic local and international partnerships to elevate the standard of Philippine Army education and training.

Through these strategic linkages, the ETC reaffirms its unwavering commitment to keeping Philippine Army education and training relevant, responsive, and aligned with its evolving mission, ensuring that the entire force remains highly capable and ready to train as one, defend as one, and win as one.
